Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp [305]

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today.

I spent most of my Sunday in bed finishing The Last Devil to Die by Richard Osman. This was my favourite in the series so far, and not because of the mystery was extra mysterious and the shenanigans extra shenanigan-y. It was because of the characters, who at this point feel like real people and old friends, and what they experience in this book. It made me realise that while the mysteries are always fun, it’s the characters, their wit, wry humour, and overall arcs that bring me back every time. They are such wonderful people and this one really whacked me over the head with all the emotion! 😭 Yes, I did cry. I ugly cried for… A good chunk of this!

What book are you spending your Sunday in bed with?

The work schedule continues to be incredibly hectic with event after event rolling out, so I’ve had little time to do anything all week (not that I do much anyway, lol). To decompress after the long days, I’ve started watching a True Crime channel on YouTube and started playing a new cozy game called Tavern Talk on Switch.

It has the same concept as one of my favourite cosy visual novels (Coffee Talk) but here you’re an innkeeper in a fantasy world, and the game play is much simpler. There’s not much in the way of adventure, and if you make a wrong move (i.e. make the wrong drink) the game will steer you in the right direction, so there’s no exploring different paths or storylines. While some may not enjoy that, I’ve been having fun with it and I’ve enjoyed the cosy vibes as much as the art and characters!

Both of these activities have been nice ways to end my days. The quiet evenings are about to come to an end though as my parents return from their China trip tonight. I can’t believe it’s already been a month since they’ve been gone—time is really flying—but I’m sure it’ll be nice having them around again.

ICYMI here’s what I posted this week:

I hope everyone’s doing well and treating themselves with care. Have a great week ahead, friends! 💜

  1. Ah it does look so cosy! I havent finished the first coffee talk 🫣

For me, I much prefer when atleast one parent is around- whenever i’m alone too long (even with the dogs & cat) I get super depressed and at lost of what to do. My favorite thing is co-being (?? Not sure the word anymore) which is exactly what cats do; you just exist. Next to each other, doing your things. With mama I usually watch some true crime or paranormal youtubers with her, and we talk.

  3. I’m looking forward to getting to The Last Devil to Die, but it won’t be until I get home from my holiday next week. It’s nice that you have something that helps you unwind from work. Enjoy your week, Dini.
