We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today.

I’ll spend the rest of my Sunday in bed reading The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones. Charlotte and I started this buddy read today and I think we were both a bit surprised by the style at the beginning! It’s epistolary (in the form of diary entries), which I love, but it’s the use 19th century English that threw me off at first! It wasn’t at all what I expected. Our main character from the Blackfeet tribe also uses a lot of terminology I’m unfamiliar with, so there was a lot to take in! But I’m getting really into it now (kinda wanna binge it) and it’s honestly making me a lottle angry—not at the book itself but the colonizers in it. 😤 I have a great feeling about this one!
What book are you spending your Sunday in bed with?

This week was so busy that it passed by in a flash. I did get sick at the start of the week and wound up WFH for two days. My parents also left for their month-long holiday, so it’s back to having a very quiet house for me. I’m trying to get into better habits of not eating where I sleep and work while at home, so I’ve tried spending more time downstairs and actually use the space when my parents aren’t around. It’s hard to break this habit cos I just want to get cosy in my comfort zone the minute I get home, but it hasn’t been the worst thing and I can already feel that it’s the right move for me to make!

On another note, I decided to spontaneously try out my new mini loaf trays tonight and used the overripe bananas I didn’t want to eat to make mini banana walnut loaves. They are so cute! I hope they taste as good as they look! 🤭

tie you down – HAIM x Bon Iver

I hope everyone’s doing well and treating themselves with care. Have a great week ahead, friends! 💜

Hey, I actually know those two bands (and saw them both live). Your baked goods always look amazing. And I totally agree with the separate space thing. I am strict about eating at the kitchen table and only working at my desk.

Omg, I’m so jealous that you’ve seen HAIM and Bon Iver! They’re on my concert wish list, lol. One day! And thanks, Sam. They actually turned out really well and I’m quite pleased by them 🙂 Mini bakes for the win!

I didn’t know The Buffalo Hunter Hunter was written in epistolary form…hm, so that with the horror…idk if it’s one I’ll get to then. I’m not a fan of the epistolary format. Your baked goods look super cute, though!! 🤩

Oh, bummer! The main chunks of it are written as diary entries. As someone who doesn’t read horror often, if ever, it’s interesting that this is classified as horror and it’s kind of opening up my eyes to different types of horror, I guess? I’m absolutely hooked and it’s giving me the 5-star/new favourite tingles every time I read it. I’m loving it!
And YES, I’m loving these mini loaves!? They’re so easy to eat 🤭 But also adorable and so easy to bake!

I’m happy to report that they were delicious 🤤 I only managed to have two bites of one before my colleagues snatched them from me, haha. I guess I know what I’m making for my office’s retreat this Friady!

Yum! I’m glad they worked out well. They look like a great size loaf for banana bread, too!

The Europeans that colonized North America did terrible things to the Native Americans, Dini. I understand how you would get angry. Enjoy your time while your parents are gone. Your mini loaves look yummy. I hope they tasted good.
