I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday night in bed reading The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver. This has been on my TBR for so long now but I finally I picked it up on a whim yesterday. It took me a bit to get into, but I’m surprised by how quickly I’ve gone through the story! It’s an easy but emotional read.

This week was pretty non-eventful. Work was work and I didn’t end up going to the gym much this week as dad was home alone, so I got to have dinner with him this week. While my gym sessions do leave me feeling exhausted and good, and I’m more active than I’ve been in the past … many years combined, I don’t think I’ve felt this achy in ever? A part of me wonders if I’ll ever stop aching or if it will just chronic at this point. 😂 The most exciting thing that happened, aside from getting more plush keychains from Popmart, was getting in an orthopedic mattress topper. I really think it might be one of the best purchases I’ve made in recent years!

I finished it last night and I think I expected it to hit harder emotionally, but I did end up crying at certain moments, especially at the end when Lydia finds acceptance. 🥲

It feels weird sleeping on something so firm when I’m so used to sinking into my mattress but I think it will be good for me! 🤭

Yes! I’m glad that I finally read it (finished it last night) and I can understand why so many people loved it. I think it’s a good exploration of grief and learning about yourself again after living for so long with someone beside you. I hope you have a good week ahead too, Carla!
