Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp [269]

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today.

I’m not sure what book I’ll spend my Sunday night in bed with as I just finished Unhallowed Halls by Lili Wilkinson, the book I spent my whole Sunday with. I’m actually reading this with Chris and I’m sorry that I sped ahead but after the 50% mark, I needed to know wtf was going on and it snowballed to the end from there. 😂

I’m still trying to figure out my whole thoughts on it but it was a fun romp, that’s for sure!

What book are you spending your Sunday in bed with?

There was absolutely nothing remarkable about this week if you don’t count the news coming out from America. It’s a funny thing (not really) to see how American politics affects international relations, particularly impacting international aid. It’s disheartening and heartbreaking to see how such a ‘simple’ decision on one person’s end on the other side of the world affects thousands of people on the other side. It’s not just employees who lose their livelihoods but the most disadvantaged communities that lose the critical support needed to make their lives liveable. It’s been a sombre week for many even all the way out here (and I know many of you live in America and have to live in that environment and are experiencing first-hand worse pains, and I’m truly sorry).

More people are migrating to Bluesky—yay! Let’s connect: dinipandareads.bsky.social 💜

I’m feeling perpetually behind on all the book/blog things that I keep telling myself I want to do and then never get around to doing. Mostly because I forget what I said I’d do in the first place! 😅 I’m also realising that I may have been overly ambitious with my February reading plans (tours, arcs, buddy reads, oh my…). I truly forgot this is the shortest month of the year and despite being only 2-3 shorter, those extra days make a massive difference. Oop! 🫣

ICYMI here’s what I posted this week:

growing pains – trousdale

I hope everyone’s doing well and treating themselves with care. Have a great week ahead, friends! 💜

  1. Every time I see a Bluesky link all I can think about this song I like.. Blue Sky & The Painter by Bastille. “Is that a blue sky? Is that a blue sky? It’s about damn time, yeah, it’s about damn time.” Anyways,

If it’s too much, we can move our Bone Season start to next month!! I think we were going to read Pho at some point, but we can move that too! Let us know in the DM. I always forget how short Feb is too!!

Ugh.. all the stuff with America.. makes me sick. I hate how they are isolating us from the world. I am truly disgusted with out they are treating people IN the country and abroad. 😦

I hope you have an amazing week, Dini!! ❤

    • I don’t know that song but I do like Bastille so I’ll be sure to check it out 😃 Haha, I hope it’s a good song to get stuck in your head, at least!

The second part of your comment made me realise that I didn’t change the content for this section of the post from last week’s post 😂 Oops! Big oops! I think I’ll be ready to start The Bone Season next week (is that when we decided to do it?) but I’m also excited to start our next Owlcrate one! Let’s do Pho toward the end of Feb? Maybe after our Bone Season read (if we finish that before Feb ends, lol).

I hope this week is better for you and the fam, Leslie! Take care 💜

    • Haha, I just really wanted to make good use of my Sunday and I knew when I stopped reading on Saturday night that I would keep reading until I finished because the momentum! 😂 I hope you enjoyed Greenteeth (very curious about that title as I’ve been seeing it everywhere lately) and I hope your recovery is going smoothly! Have a good week ahead ✨

  2. The decisions coming out of the Whitehouse are affecting everyone all around the world, and I don’t know how it will all play out. I was going to do less blog tours this month, but somehow ended up signing up for 9 of them. So glad I’m retired. I’m glad you week didn’t have any drama this week, Dini. I hope net week is a good one.

    • It’s very sad to watch it all unfold… Ah, after signing up for perhaps too many this month and telling myself that I wouldn’t overload March, I’ve somehow already ignored this advice and signed up for… Several more, haha. Oops! 🤭 I hope you enjoy the reads for the blog tours that you’re on though! Have a great week ahead, Carla!

      • I’ve already read and posted 4, read another, so only have 4 more to read. They have all been good so far. It seems we booklovers have a hard time saying no when it comes to reading. 🤷‍♀️

  3. I haven’t heard of Unallowed Halls, but now you’ve made me curious! I’m new to Bluesky and just started following you. I’ve always just used Instagram for book related posts (haven’t used Twitter in YEARS).

Thank you for all of your kind words! I’ll probably leave the snowflakes until March when the weather warms up. I’ve had a lot of different blog layouts over the years, and then eventually decided to have one commissioned to my specifications. We worked closely on the project and I’m REALLY happy with how everything came out. 🙂

    • Yay, welcome to bsky! I’ve just added you back 😍 I’m on IG as well but I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with it after burning out really badly a few years ago, haha. I’m slowly getting back on it this year and I’m happy with the posts I’ve made. Baby steps!

The snowflakes are great and the designs on your blog are also awesome! It’s so nice when you finally land on a layout and style that you love—even better when you find an artist that can help you bring it to life! That’s definitely goals, hehe.

I hope you have a great week ahead!
