Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp [263]

Um, hello, we’ve somehow reached the last Sunday of 2024?! Welp.

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today.

A Language of Dragons by S. F. Williamson is out on 7 January 2025
The Wilde Trials by Mackenzie Reed is out on 21 January 2025

I finished my last read earlier and I haven’t decided what to read next. I’m leaning towards either A Language of Dragons or The Wilde Trials. Both these titles are January 2025 releases that I have ARCs for so I’m trying to stay ahead of the game for their pub dates!

What book are you spending your Sunday in bed with?

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas/holiday with loved ones. Thinking of everyone who has a tough time during this period of the year—I hope you’re all doing okay and taking care!

Friday was my last workday of 2024 and since then, my brain has taken this holiday mood so seriously that I nearly forgot it was even Sunday today. Even though Friday was just the day before, it feels like I’ve been on holiday for over a week already… I guess you can say my days have passed in a haze! 🤣 I’m lowkey worried about how much effort it’ll take me to get back into the working groove when I return to the office but that’s a problem for future me! 😅

I’m the homiest of homebodies so I’ve been avoiding public places like the plague so it’s just quiet days at home. Since my family’s big celebration of the year is NYE, we’ll have a bash on Tuesday complete with turkey and other food. We don’t do turkey every year but it was requested this time and since the responsibility falls on me, I sincerely hope I still remember how to do it! 🤭

I’m keeping this here for a while in case more people decide to migrate over to Bluesky. Find me at: dinipandareads.bsky.social! 💜

I’m procrastinating on doing my year-end wrap-up posts so I’ve been cataloguing my books this past week. It’s a massive task that honestly, made me want to cry at first, especially since my brain decided I needed to find a better system for cataloguing. I landed on Notion for my new catalogue and I’m happy with it so far. I’m a full-on noob to this platform so I know my usage isn’t optimal but I hope I can figure out the databases, relations, and functions later once everything’s added.

A screenshot of "dini's library" on the platform Notion. It shows quick links to all my books, all genres, and a series database. It also shows the headings "read vs. unread books" and "all-time favourites" with some titles from my library database.

I’m still working my way through my physical books numbering well into the high hundreds, but I also downloaded my Kindle catalogue the other day and… I really don’t know how I’m going to go about tackling that cos it’s an overwhelmingly overwhelming number! 🙃

ICYMI here’s what I posted this week:

cool about it – boygenius

I really hope you’re all doing okay and treating yourself with care. Let’s have a great week ahead! 💜

  1. I am really impressed that you are cataloging your books. I tried doing that once back in the day with my CDs (I have over 5,000). I built a database and everything after I double purchased one. HA! Just remember how much time you spent so that you are encouraged to do the UPKEEP. That was my downfall. I know the music this week! I saw Boygenius with my daughter (maybe last year?).

    • Haha, I thought I learned my lesson about doing the upkeep last year but apparently not. Maybe this year will finally motivate me, especially if I’m going to try merging my ebooks and physical books list! Otherwise, the upkeep really will be my downfall too 🫣 And ooh, it’s awesome that you’ve seen boygenius live! I can imagine they’d be amazing to see 🙂

    • I’m so glad that I’ve stood my ground and not caved to the social and familial pressure of attending events. People don’t get it but I’m happy being a hibernating bug. I hope you have a fantastic NYE as well! 😍

  2. For us here the days between Christmas and New Year’s feels like limbo – we don’t know what day it is, my son thought their winter break was over but they have one more week to his relief! lol…I hope you and your family have a fun and festive NYE celebration! Happy New Year!
