Let’s Talk Bookish: Celebrating LTB! 🎉

Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme created by Rukky @Eternity Books and hosted by Aria @Book Nook Bits, and it’s where we get to discuss certain topics, share our opinions, and spread the love by visiting each other’s posts! Check out all the past topics if you want to join in the bookish discussion fun.

This week’s topic is actually a mid-year reading check-in but since I just posted my Mid-Year Check-In Tag earlier this week, I’ll be doing last week’s topic:

Celebrating 5 years of Let’s Talk Bookish

Prompts: It’s the fifth Friday of August and this month, Let’s Talk Bookish turns 5! How long have you been participating in LTB? What was the first LTB topic you wrote a post for? Have your opinions changed since then? How did you first hear about LTB? If you have a favorite LTB topic from the last few years, go ahead and write about that!

How long have you been participating in LTB?

I wrote my first Let’s Talk Bookish post four years ago in October 2020! Wow, I honestly can’t believe it’s been that long but also, it feels like much longer than that (which is probably because I feel like I’ve had this blog for much longer, too). 😂

What was the first LTB topic you wrote a post for? Have your opinions changed since then?

My first LTB post was on reviewing sequels! The question asked whether readers should review a sequel without reading the first book and the topic wasn’t something I’d thought about until the question was asked. I mean, naturally, I would say no because (*gasp*) why would anyone even read the sequel of a series before reading the first book?! But there are exceptions to this rule and that’s books in a series that are connected but not about the same characters or story. Think romances set about siblings or best friends featuring different couples or cosy mysteries with the same main character and in the same small town. So overall, my thoughts on this are the same as they were four years ago! 😄

How did you first hear about LTB?

I honestly can’t remember the first time I came across the Let’s Talk Bookish post! It was probably from someone’s blog that I was subscribed to and they took part in it which put it on my radar. All I know is that I’d wanted to dip my toes further into the intimidating world of bookish discussions but was unsure about how to come up with topics. This led me to Procrastination Station™️ until I discovered LTB! ✨ This weekly meme is exactly what I was looking for and I hope it sticks around for a long time yet because I love the prompts, how certain topics push me out of my cosy comfort zone, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed taking part whenever I can! 😍

My favourite LTB posts/topics

I’m not always the best at self-promotion but I thought I would take the time to share the LTB posts that I had the most fun writing! If you do check any of them out, I hope you enjoy reading them. 😊

Do you participate in the Let’s Talk Bookish weekly meme or is it a meme that you would like to participate in?
