Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp [246]

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today!

I’m spending my Sunday night in bed reading A Rose Among Thorns by Ash Fitzsimmons. I’m reading this for a blog tour next week. It’s an indie fantasy novella, so it shouldn’t take long to read. The start was rough for me but I’m enjoying the banter and am keen to see where it goes 🙂

What book are you spending your Sunday in bed with?

On the work front, it was a bit of a rough week as we delivered the news that my team would face a restructuring. It’s for multiple reasons, mostly funding, but even though my colleagues haven’t been performing no matter what I do to support them, it’s still no fun task to let people know their positions are being abolished and they’re losing their jobs. Organisational change is never easy! I just hope that handovers and closures go smoothly until the end of September… 🤞🏽

I’ve actually been reading! Well, I finished one book but it was an epic fantasy and it was amazing! 😍 I buddy read it with Becky and that really helped keep me motivated although that’s not to say the book wouldn’t have done that on its own. Black Sun was incredible and I can’t wait to continue the series next month!

ICYMI here’s what I posted this week:

to someone from a warm climate (uiscefhuaraithe) – hozier

I really hope you’re all doing okay and treating yourself with care. Let’s have a great week ahead! 💜

    • It wasn’t great delivering that sort of news and I hope to not experience it again anytime soon 😂 There’s so much weight and guilt to it. But I’m now just looking forward to the end of this transition period and seeing what happens next in October! I also haven’t heard a bad thing about Black Sun although I’ve heard some mixed things about the series as it goes on. I hope I do end up loving the rest of the series though!

  1. I hope work gets easier! My husband has been in the same boat with a buyout for his work and putting in more hours while others didn’t get into the transition. It has been hectic lol.

  2. Restructuring is a tough thing to go through and to have to let people go makes it tough. Sorry that fell to you. I hope things work out and it gets easier. I hope you have a great week, Dini.

  3. I hope they all find great new jobs soon. Being laid off is really hard. And I’m sure it’s hard to be the one to break the news, too.
