Yep, I know it’s the end of July and I’m only just getting my June wrap-up posted now. I honestly can’t even remember what I did in June other than work. Outside of work, I was facing a lot of stress and anxiety due to family drama that did not put me in a good place mentally. Other than that, it really was an uneventful month… I think… Cos I literally, honestly, can’t remember much of it now! 😂

June was definitely a mixed bag for reading. I read 15 books in June and it was the month where I had the most lower-rated reads, although I still had three 5-star reads to kind of balance it out. I also had grand intentions of reading more of the queer books on my shelves but unfortunately, life. While the reading month started strong, it ended on a much slower note.
If I had to choose a favourite of the month it’d be Winter’s Orbit. When I first finished it, I rated it 4.5 stars but the more it stayed on my mind, I realised the more I loved it and it has now been bumped up to 5 stars in my mind, lol. 💜

Until June I was I’m chugging along nicely with the few year-long challenges I’m doing. However, I didn’t end up finishing the June book for my Buzzword Reading Challenge although I’m still marking it here because I will finish it soon. Better late than never, right?! I was surprised by how difficult it was for me to find a book for the “repeating words” prompt when I thought it would be so easy. Lies! 😂
✔ Project Backlist Reading Challenge: 📚 4 backlist books // 📱 0 backlist ARCs
✔ 2024 Buzzwordathon: June (“repeating words”): When the Tiger Came Down the Mountain
✔ 2024 Year in Aeldia: June (Book You Had for Ages): The Cheerleaders

And that’s a wrap for June! I hope everyone’s doing well and is taking good care! 💜

I also just posted my monthly wrap-up in the last couple of days, haha. June went by so quickly and so did July. Sometimes its hard to find the time to get it written up. Sorry you’ve had to deal with family drama. I know how hard that can be. I hope July has been better!

Haha, June went in a blink. I thought I could wing by my monthly wrap up in June at the start of July but I greatly underestimated how much time the wedding reception and family time would take up 😂 Oh well, like I said, better late than never to post, right?! Hehe… I hope July has been good to you as well!

Wow looks like you read a lot in June, good thing you at least found 3 5stars though! I love when you think of a book so much afterwards that you decide to bump up the rating due to staying power! Hopefully July was better to you in terms of stress 🖤!

I’m happy that I’m finding at least one 5-star read each month. I hope you’re having a great July too!

It was to do with my brother’s wedding reception which was in July so now everything is back to normal but oof, family drama is so draining, lol.

I am a broken record, but quality over quantity, though 15 books is a good number. Glad to see you had so many highly rated books.
