Monthly Wrap-Up: June 2026

Well, June wasn’t any different to what I expected. It was the last month of full-time work for everyone at my office and wow, it was hectic, stressful, frustrating and emotional in so many different ways. It hasn’t been an easy process and if I’m being honest, there were so many instances the team felt deep betrayal and disbelief due to decisions being made by the higher-ups in New York, but would be the most impactful to the local team on the ground here. By the time the 30th rolled around, the energy was almost manic because everyone was beyond exhausted but at the same time, relieved to not have to deal with the heavy burden of this change full-time anymore.

Personally, I was feeling pretty numb to it all and even now, I don’t think it’s fully set in? There were a few panicky moments towards the end of June when I started thinking too long and hard about what I’m going to do next, whether I’m ever going to be able to get a job again, how I’m going to survive in this economy, etc. I know it’s a serious situation but I also know my brain was making things more dramatic and worse in those moments. As of right now, I’m feeling quite a bit of guilt because I’m not working, and I’m also struggling to not feel like I have to constantly be online and available for work because I’m no longer being paid to work full-time. It’s a weird transitory feeling and I’m sure it’ll take a while for me to get used to it, but I know I will adjust. ๐Ÿ™‚

Monthly Wrap-Up: June 2025

I can’t believe June has already come and gone, and with it goes the last holiday I have before the end of the year. ๐Ÿคญ We held the annual Bali family summer holiday mid-June to celebrate my nan’s 94th birthday and this year we also had family photos (*shudder*). My sister flew down from Japan, and the rest of family flew in from where we’re spread out globally. These years, family holidays feel less and less like a ‘holiday’ due to overly hectic schedules and trying to pack everything into a 1-2 week period, but it’s always lovely to see everyone. Even though I came back feeling the need for a holiday from my holiday, it was also nice to get a break from work!

June & July 2024 Community Posts!

Happy Monday, friends! I thought I’d kick this week off on a high note and share some community posts I loved reading in June and July. Since I posted my June wrap-up ridiculously late, I decided to combine the monthly posts and because of that, this might be a bit longer than usual. Still, I hope you enjoy checking these posts out and spreading the love to the community! On that note, I’m gonna jump straight to the posts.

Monthly Wrap-Up: June 2024

Yep, I know it’s the end of July and I’m only just getting my June wrap-up posted now. I honestly can’t even remember what I did in June other than work. Outside of work, I was facing a lot of stress and anxiety due to family drama that did not put me in a good place mentally. Other than that, it really was an uneventful month… I think… Cos I literally, honestly, can’t remember much of it now! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Monthly Wrap-Ups: June & July 2023

June and July were… Months. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Work took over my lifeโ€”and not in the best wayโ€”in June and what should have been a month of decompressing and destressing in July, was filled with personal losses that really broke my heart. They weren’t the greatest months and have solidified the fact that 2023 is a year of utter chaos, confusion and change even more so than the previous years, at least for me personally! I’m hoping that the rest of the year will be significantly better but at this point I’m just trying to do what’s best for me by taking it one day at a time, losing myself in games, and slowly working my way back to books, reading and blogging.
