#TopTenTuesday: Food Magic

We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is a Freebie! I decided to go for books about food or books where food plays a big role in the story or character arcs!

Despite having a list of potential TTT topics on my Notes app, I struggled to choose what type of books to spotlight today because none of my “saved” topics were calling my name. But then I thought… As tomorrow is Eid Al-Fitr I thought it would be nice to spotlight books about food and (hopefully, if I can find any) family. I decided not to limit myself too much so basically, any book where food plays a role would fit. 😂

I don’t celebrate Eid but as I live in Indonesia, a country with the single largest population of Muslims in the world, it’s a pretty big deal and I know the celebration is about family, giving thanks and togetherness with a lot of delicious food. 🤤 I don’t know how successful I’ll be but let’s see what I can find!

Sourdough
With the Fire On High
Chef’s Kiss
Pumpkinheads

Shucked

The Surprising Power of A Good Dumpling
Fake It Till You Bake It
Battle Royal
Before the Coffee Gets Cold

Legends & Lattes

And that’s all for my list today! Do you love when food plays a big role in whatever book you’re reading? What are some of your favourite books where food plays a big role? Any of these make the list? I’d love more recs! 😍

  1. Great topic for today, Dini. I am loving the variety. I must have read a review of Shucked that you posted, as when I just checked it is already on my TBR, listed as a blog recommendation.

  2. Great topic choice! I do love experience food through a foodie in a book. You have some great picks here, and a few I still need to pick up. Her Big City Neighbor by Jackie Lau is one that always comes to mind for me when I think of foodies in books.

    • Thanks, Ali! Ooh, I’ve only read the first book of Her Big City Neighbor series and I can’t remember all the details anymore but the FMC baked pies often, didn’t she? 🤔 I still need to continue that series!

    • That is one I’ve had on my TBR wish list for ages. I keep waiting for the Kindle price to drop but it hasn’t yet since it’s come out so I may as well just get it soon! 😂 So glad to hear you loved it. I also can’t wait to read the other book La Rosa put it after that! The cosy mystery sounds fun too and so I’ll be sure to check it out. Thanks for the recco, Pam!

  3. Great topic, Dini! Books that are food centered always make me snack more when I read them. 😉 I adored Acevedo’s and Rowell’s. Legends & Lattes is on my tbr!
