It’s been a rather sluggish reading week and since last Wednesday I’ve managed to only finish one book.
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern ★★★★☆
I really enjoyed this buddy read with Chris. The book itself was interesting—weird, whimsical, magical—but I really enjoyed our conversations about it cos it made me appreciate the book more! This is a book for the bibliophiles. 💜
The First Binding ⇢ 18%
Leslie and I are very slowly making our way through this book, lol. I’m at the point where we get more world-building but it’s kinda info-dumpy. 🫣 Honestly, I didn’t expect this to be such a chore to read and I’m toying with DNFing for now because it’s not motivating me. It’s odd since this is compared to The Name of the Wind, which is one of my all-time favourites and while I don’t hate this, nothing is reeling me in. Maybe I’ll give it a bit more time, perhaps a couple more chapters, but let’s see!
I’ve got another buddy re-read with Becky coming up and I’m excited about that! Otherwise, let’s see where my mood takes me…

Ah, yeah, I keep hearing very mixed things about it. I’m going to keep giving it a bit of a go but let’s see how I feel in a couple days, lol

I really need to move The Song Book of Benny Lament back up to the top of my TBR. It keeps getting pushed aside for other books.

Same! This is exactly what happened all those years ago when it first got on my list. 🤦🏻♀️ I’m hoping 2024 will be Benny’s year, lol!

I’m glad you enjoyed The Starless Sea. I couldn’t get into the audiobook of that one.
