We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time curled up reading in bed with or which book you wish you had time to read today!

Progress: 60%
I’m still reading A Conjuring of Light with Becky and loving it! There’s so much happening. Tensions are high and I’m scared for what’s coming, lol.

Chris and I are continuing our buddy read with Amari and the Great Game! I’m nervous about what’s coming but also, give me more, please! 😍
What are you currently reading?

It’s been a pretty low-key week with not much happening aside from a little bit of retail therapy! Sadly, this retail therapy didn’t involve books but new work pants, perfume, and body lotion. We had a nice K-BBQ dinner yesterday with my brother and his partner; both of whom we haven’t seen in like 4+ months despite living in the same city? Save for the (still) slightly awkward tension between them and my parents, I survived the night as a “mediator” with only minor frustrations—definitely considering it a win! 😂

I haven’t been reading all that much but I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my reads and I’m happy to be feeling that excitement and spark again cos it’s what I’ve been waiting for! Here’s hoping that the good mood vibes stay and make it easier for me to pick what book to read next. 😂
ICYMI here’s what I posted this week:
- Monthly Wrap-Ups: June & July 2023
- #FirstLinesFriday: 4 August 2023
- ARC Review: How to Win a Breakup by Farah Heron
- #WWWWednesday: 2 August 2023
- #TopTenTuesday: Shouting Out the Backlist!
- The Magical Readathon: Orilium Autumn Equinox 2023

I really hope you’re all doing okay and treating yourself with care. Let’s have a great week ahead! 💜

I’m also about 60% into A Conjuring of Light at the moment, so I’m with you about being scared about what’s going to happen next! I’m glad you’re enjoying reading again and retail therapy and k-bbq sounds like fun!

Ooh, things are getting so tense. I forgot how much I love/hate Holland. He’s such a perfectly morally grey villain and as much as I hate how his actions have affected everyone else so badly, I also can’t help but empathise with him. He’s got such a heartbreaking past! I hope you continue enjoying the book, Lindsey! 💜

Yum – KBBQ, so good. My sister and her kids are less than a 10 minute drive from us, and we never see them. Glad you were able to connect with your brother. I have been shopping for new fragrance for a while. I can’t find anything that makes me want to buy it, but I love perfume. It’s a think that makes me happy.

K-BBQ is SO good. I can eat it all day every day 😂 Ooh, I love fragrances but I just had a thought the other day that I need to stop cos they keep piling up and I can’t use them all at once. I do love buying new scents though—it makes me very happy too!

Thanks, Anoushka! I’m glad I’m finding that spark again cos I was worried for a minute there that it would take me ages to find my way back 😂 Ooh, This Savage Song is one that I hope to re-read at some point in the future. I read all of Schwab’s books too long ago and with how poor my memory is, it’s a wonder I can remember anything about her books, lol. I hope you enjoy her other books if you do pick them up! 😍

So happy that you’re loving A Conjuring of Light! I love that trilogy characters so much! (Also, I’m back and I noticed I have a loooooot to catch up with your blog! 😅😅😅) I’m sorry about the tension between your parents and brother. Hope it gets better. 🙏

Haha, I went on hiatus for close to two months recently and I feel the same—there’s so much to catch up on and I don’t even know where to start, so I just start from where I’m at and keep going with everyone’s posts! 😂 I know I’ve missed out on tons though. I’m also so glad that I’m enjoying the Shades of Magic trilogy for this first re-read and that it’s living up to how much I loved it the first time I read it 😍 Glad to see you around again, Andie! 💜

A lot happens in Amari and the Great Game, I hope you love it, Dini. It is wonderful to get together with family, but too bad there is some tenseness that makes it hard to relax. Have a great week, Dini.
