Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

Since last week I’ve only finished one book: The Burning God by R.F. Kuang. Whoa, this was one helluva ride and I’m so glad I read it with others! I can’t say this was my favourite book in the series and while things wrapped up well, I don’t know if I’m 100% satisfied with it? I think I expected a little bit more based on the earlier build-up. That’s not to say this book (and the series as a whole) wasn’t absolutely mind-blowing because it was, although I can safely say grimdark fantasies aren’t entirely my cuppa, lol! Ultimately, I think I’d give this book ★★★★☆!

I’m currently reading Thorn by Intisar Khanani. I’m buddy-reading this with Leslie and I’m about 71% through it. My brain has no capacity to jump around with reads right now, no matter how much I want to read more!

The magic of ✨mood reading✨ means it could be any of these.

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends! 😍

That’s why I’ve never picked up The Poppy War series. Grimdark is NOT for me. I hope you find a five star read soon!

Yeah, it was definitely a lot and while the sub-genre is definitely not for me, I’m still glad that I read it. I’m glad that her following books have been different cos I do enjoy her writing 😃

Glad you enjoyed The Burning God! The ending was bittersweet but really on theme. I just finished Something More and quite enjoyed it too 🙂

Bittersweet but on theme is exactly right. I’m sad but ya sudah juga 😂 Haha I’m looking forward to reading Something More but I just have to be sure that I’m in the right mood for it, I think, lol. Glad to hear you enjoyed it though!

Me too! I still haven’t read it even though it’s been on my TBR for ages. I hope you enjoy it—although I know it discusses ED which isn’t necessarily an easy or enjoyable topic to read about.

My brain can never jump around with reads. Sorry you weren’t 100% satisfied with the Kuang series wrap up, but it does sound like it was a solid book. I am behind on the Liese books. I own some unread (bad reader!) Hope it’s another great addition to the series.

I mostly tend to do alright with jumping around with reads but this time my brain is like HARD NO! 😂 I’m really exhausted with everything that’s happening at work right now but I know that’s just going to be this month (again). I hope to get back to reading and blogging more in July!

I don’t think grimdark is for me either. I struggled through a lot of that series, especially the last book.

Yeah, that last book was rough but I’m glad that we read it together 💜 Definitely made it easier for me to get through knowing others were reading it with me, lol

This is the last time I’ll say it. I promise. But… I HOPE YOU READ LIESE’S BOOK NEXT!!! 😉

HAHAHA I know, omgosh, I know. I’m terrible! I just haven’t been reading all that much these days and with work being as busy as it is, I have so little energy for it after work. But that’s just for this month and then I’m hoping that the next months will pick up for reading again! 😃

Ooooh I hope you read ADSOM next. I did my reread for the Shades of Magic trilogy at the beginning of the year and it was *wonderful*. I can’t wait for The Fragile Threads of Power!

I’m currently reading it right now and it’s a re-read for me too. I read it years ago and remembering loving it so much I tried to get my hands on as many copies as possible 😂 But I haven’t re-read it since then and I’m kinda worried I won’t love it as much but so far, so good! I love Schwab’s writing 🥰 I can’t wait for TFToP too!
