#TopTenTuesday: It’s Summer! 🌻

We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Books or Covers that Feel/Look Like Summer (You can interpret this in a number of ways. Maybe the covers or titles are obviously summer themed, but maybe the feeling the book gives you is all warm and summery. Maybe the book cover colors look summery or the story itself takes place in the summertime. Or maybe the titles you select are favourites that you re-read every summer when you were on break from school.)

Living in the tropics means it’s always summer but the weather truly just keeps getting hotter these days and it’s really not in a great way! 🥵 But I digress. When I think of summer covers I think of the sun, sand, bodies of water, a palm tree or two… Y’know, all the good stuff (for some), so I’m divvying up my list today accordingly. This was surprisingly harder than I expected because my memory is absolute trash but thankfully, Goodreads lists helped me recall what I’ve read/still have on my TBR that have these elements on the cover. On that note, let’s get to it!

Lizzie Blake’s Best Mistake
She Who Became the Sun
Race to the Sun
I’ll Give You the Sun
We Were Liars

Don’t Go Baking My Heart
Summer Bird Blue
The Guncle
Stars of Fortune
The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea

Do these books give you summer vibes? What covers make you think of summer? Are you a seasonal reader or a mood reader (like me!)?

  1. Yeah, too hot is no fun. We get a bit of that here in Texas, too. I just added The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea to my tbr thanks to Deanna. I’m happy to see it on your list, as well. 🙂

  2. I think the tropics are a place I would like to visit, but not live with all of the heat. I’m not a fan of heat and humidity and tend to suffer when we have it all here in Canada. That said, I’m also not a fan of the super cold weather we get here in the winter at times (-40, no thanks!). As for your books, you’ve got a great list of summer covers. I like the sound of Lizzie Blake and may have to give it a go at some point. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.

  3. These are all great choices, Dini. Thanks for the reminder about Guncle. I put it on my TBR when I read some good reviews, then promptly forgot about it. 🙄
