Since last week I managed to finish reading three books.
What Was Meant to Be by Q. B. Tyler
I knew this wouldn’t be my jam but I was too curious and gave it a try. It gave what I thought and expected it’d give so I can’t say I’m disappointed. This is my second book by this author and I’m starting to think Tyler just isn’t for me!

I read this with Leslie and although it was a bit of a rough start, I thoroughly enjoyed this! I loved Edwin and Robin and their endearingly awkward-sweet romance, the mystery was compelling, the magic system was enjoyable and I enjoyed the setting, too. Looking forward to reading the next one!
Royal Rebel (Fate of Eyrinthia #4) by Heather Frost โ

I read this with Julie and knew it was going to be a bit of a slower start but once the story picked up halfway, the action was non-stop! Frost had me clutching my train seat and gasping out loud in public on the way to workโI was so caught up with everything that was happening. Long story short, I need the next book NOW, PLS! ๐
I’ve got a few reads on at the minute and two of them are buddy reads!
- Lizzie Blake’s Best Mistake โ 48% โ I adore Rake and Lizzie has really grown on me. I love their dynamic so muchโthis is giving me all kinds of feelings! ๐ฅน
- (ARC) Hollow โ 60% โ This is a very overdue ARC (welp ๐ซฃ) but I’m really enjoying this graphic novel! I love the art style and the story and characters are fun.
- Small Miraclesโ 12% โ I just started this the other night and it took me a little bit to get into, especially since it has footnotes!, but I’m enjoying this. I love the humour and Gadriel is awesome! ๐

You can’t see my big stupid grin, but what you described is how I felt when reading Lizzie and Rake’s story. You are better than me. I give authors one chance. If we don’t fit, I move on.

They are such an awesome couple and give me the giggly swoony feelings! ๐ฅน I love their dynamic so much! I should probably get better at moving on from an author when they’re not a fit for me ๐ I always think “but what if the next one is great?” it’s why I also suck at DNFing haha

I’m glad you’re enjoying Lizzie Blake. I need to try another Tyler book. The first one I read wasn’t for me either.

I think I’m gonna give Tyler maybe one more chance but I’m thinking that perhaps we’re just not a match. ๐ฅบ I hope the next book you try by her will be a success though!

I really enjoyed Small Miracles but also struggled with the footnotes. I ended up skimming them by the end ๐

Haha, I think I’m going to start doing that soon and just look at them all at once at the end of the chapter ๐ I’m still enjoying it though!

I’m SO glad that we buddy read it! It’s SO good to have someone I can finally word vom to while reading, haha. I’ve been reading those books alone for far too long! ๐ I can’t wait for the next book already, aaah!

I’ve been slowly working my way through Coronation Year this month. It was released this past Tuesday, and I’ve yet to get my review up for the ARC. ๐ฆ I’m almost done, and hoping to get that review up on Monday. Then I have another ARC for April to read. My reading time has dropped significantly recently due to a change in my work schedule.
