#WWWWednesday: 21 December 2022

Friends, it’s the second to last Wednesday of 2022!

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Since last week I managed to finish three books. It’s been an incredibly slow reading week because work has been so busy and I have been so tired, but one good thing is I discovered a new favourite read!

Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell ★★★★½
I’m so glad I gave this book another shot and listened along with the audiobook this time because this book was brilliantly told, bold, engaging and highly entertaining. Mitchell’s imagination is absolutely fantastic! [CHECK OUT MY REVIEW!]

Forrest for the Trees (Green Valley Heroes #1) by Kilby Blades ★★★☆☆
This was honestly a little boring? It was an interesting setting, the mystery was intriguing and the slow-burn romance was sweet but I didn’t feel particularly invested in any aspect of it and neither did I think it was particularly memorable.

Lovelight Farms (Lovelight #1) by B.K. Borison ★★★½
Though I sadly didn’t enjoy this as much as I’d hoped to (and as much as everyone else did!) I’m still so glad that I read it and I do understand why it’s so well-loved! This would be a great addition to your holiday romance reading list because the atmosphere was so festive, the friends-to-lovers romance was sweet, the fake dating was cute, and it had a bit of steam too!

It’s still been a fairly slow reading week… I can’t seem to really get into books? I’m tossing up between the latter three books to pick up next although I am still reading TVE albeit incredibly slowly.

Either one of these or probably not cos that’s the magic of ✨mood reading✨ lol…

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends! 😍

  1. Do I need to link you to my recent review of when the tiger came down the mountain? 😄 I know you liked the first one, and this one I think was even better, and others have echoed the same. If you end up feeling like a light mystical lore read, definitely go for it! I’d also say this one is a little more straightforward than the first book, which sometimes really made you work to see through double meanings.

    • Omg, I know, Jennifer! I know I’m going to enjoy this book and I don’t know why I’ve postponed reading it for so long. 🙈 I’m so excited to hear that you enjoyed it even better than the first! I like the sound of it being more straightforward because yeah, the first book had me a bit confused at times with what it was trying to say but still, so much fun to read! 😍

  2. I have also been having a slower reading week for the last two weeks. 😂 I just need to buckle down and finish my last two for my readathon!

  3. I haven’t been able to read as much as I prefer, either! I’m really enjoying ALONE WITH YOU IN THE ETHER by Olivie Blake, but I keep having to put it down which really breaks my vibe with the book. It’s one of those kinds of books where it’s best to read it in large chunks to stay “in character” with the characters. I’ll have a good chunk of reading time on the plane, though. 🙂 I hope you find more time soon to read!

    • I’ve become more and more curious about that book so I’m glad to hear that you’re enjoying it. I can relate to how frustrating it is when you have to put down a book you’re enjoying so much—it does totally break the vibe, but I hope that it doesn’t disrupt your enjoyment of the book too much! I love reading on planes because I always get so much reading done since I have fewer distractions. 😂 Safe travels and happy reading, Celeste!

OK BUT DINI YOU HAD NO RIGHT BRINGING US CRASHING BACK INTO REALITY LIKE THAT HOW IS THERE ONLY A LITTLE MORE THAN A WEEK LEFT???? this is sad honestly. but SHHH its fine. we’ll just continue pretending until 2023 stares us right in the face and we’re finally defenceless against it. THE EXISTENTIAL CRISES CAN WAIT.
