#TopTenTuesday: Books featuring Bookstores

So, we’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is about Favorite Bookstores OR Bookstores I’d Love to Visit (The UK celebrated National Bookshop Day on October 1, so I thought it would be a fun topic!)

So, I’m clearly going rogue this week because I wasn’t entirely feeling this week’s prompt. I’ve only ever visited a few bookstores in my life and I don’t have a list of the ones that I would love to visit (although there’s a loose one rolling around in my head somewhere). Instead, I’ve decided to look at books featuring bookstores! When I thought of this topic, I honestly thought that I’d read more books featuring bookstores but it turns out that I haven’t, so this list is a mix of books I’ve read and ones still on my TBR. On that note, let’s check out this list!

Books I’ve Read

Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley
Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan
The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman
To Kill A Mocking Girl by Harper Kincaid
Ink by Elizabeth Hunter

From the Endless TBR

The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin
84, Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff
The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
Aria’s Travelling Book Shop by Rebecca Raisin

Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? What’s a book featuring a bookstore that you love and would recommend?

  3. I love your twist. I can only think of a few books I’ve read featuring a bookstore and that may be because of my appalling memory for book plots. I don’t even remember a bookstore in THE THIRTEENTH TALE. I did enjoy the book, though. And, I’d also love to read THE STORIED LIFE OF AJ FIRKY. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  4. I almost went this way with the topic, but I knew it would take me too long to find 10. I was in a rush. LOL! Of these, the only one I’ve read is Nina Hill. Great list!

  5. Popular twist this week! I love books set at Bookstores. I still need to read Words in Deep Blue, Nina Hill, and The Thirteenth Tale. But I’ve read and enjoyed 84, Charing Cross Road and The Bookshop on the Corner. Happy Reading, Dini!

  6. TTT is always tough on my TBR, Dini. I have read 4 of these and have 3 already on my TBR pile so I have 3 to check out. I love books set in libraries, bookstores or publishing houses, so I am pretty sure I will be adding the other three. I should have done this for my TTT, but I passed last week. I wouldn’t have been able to limit it to ten though.
