#TopTenTuesday: 10 New-to-Me Authors Discovered in 2022 (so far…)

So, we’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is: completed series I wish had more books.

I wasn’t feeling this week’s topic because I really can’t recall any series that I wish had more books. Even if I’m sad to leave a certain world or characters at the end of a series, I’m generally pretty satisfied with how the story ends (at least, as far as I can recall) so this topic really didn’t speak to me. Instead, I decided to go for an easier topic and shine a spotlight on ten new-to-me authors that I’ve discovered in 2022 (so far). All of these books have been 4.5 or 5 star reads for me and some I really can’t stop talking about or recommending. Some of these books and authors have definitely become new favourites and I can’t wait to read more from them ASAP! On that note, let’s get to it…

Axie OhThe Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea
Silvia Moreno-GarciaGods of Jade and Shadow
Sophie IrwinA Lady’s Guide to Fortune-Hunting

John GwynneMalice

Gina ChenViolet Made of Thorns
Rivers SolomonThe Deep
Tasha SuriThe Jasmine Throne

What new-to-you authors have you loved discovering this year? What favourites would you recommend to everyone to try?

  1. Love this post Dini! I’ve been a fan of Tasha Suri & Silvia Moreno-Garcia for a few years now, but also found, and loved, Axie Oh this year. The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea was so beautifully written & I can’t wait to see what she writes next.

  3. I haven’t read any of these yet, but Seven Days in June is on my TBR. I had hoped to get to it this year, but I don’t think it’s gonna happen. 😉 Great post, Dini!

  4. I discovered John Gwynne last year with his Of Blood and Bone series, but oh my gosh, his writing is brilliant, isn’t it? I still need to catch up on his books, but he’s got so many and they’re such chonkers that I keep falling behind. xD I really need to read something by Silvia Moreno-Garcia still, since I’ve heard such amazing things about her work!

  5. Glad to see that you discovered Axie Oh! I loved her debut sci-fi series and I’m hoping to read her other books as well – The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea sounds amazing 🥰 I’ve also heard good things about Legend and Lattes 😊
