#TopTenTuesday: Books I Love Written 10+ Years Ago

So, we’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Books I Love That Were Written Over Ten Years Ago.

Should it go without saying that Austen’s books are on this list or should I still include her books on this list? Duh. Isn’t it wild though that looking for books published ten+ years ago means finding books that were released pre-2012? πŸ˜‚ These books are listed in chronological order based on when they were first published. There are some on here that I didn’t realise were published so long ago so this list was definitely fun to look up!

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (1813)
The Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule (1980)
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman (1996)
The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz ZafΓ³n (2001)
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini (2003)

Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult (2007)
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (2007)
Fall of Giants by Ken Follett (2010)
Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys (2011)
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller (2011)

Do you read a lot of “older” books that were published long ago? What are some of your favourite books published 10+ years agoβ€”any similar favourites with me? Have you read any of these books or are they on your TBR?

    • Yes! The only reason I would recommend not starting it yet is because the series isn’t finished and at this rate, who knows when we’ll get the next book πŸ˜‚ But it’s *so* good!

  1. The Song of Achilles made my list too and that was so surprising to me because it felt like it was just released recently…. though my perception of time has been pretty wonky as I still feel like the nineties were just 10 years ago haha πŸ™‚ Also, love Pride and Prejudice!

  3. It’s amazing to me how long ago some books were published. Where does the time go? Gah lol. I’ve never read Pride & PRejudice even though I’ve seen a ton of the movie adaptations.

    • Haha, it’s okay. I find that I rarely read any of the books on peoples lists πŸ˜‚ The Name of the Wind is amazing I’m just gutted that the story isn’t finished yet (even until now)!

  5. Ah, Pride and Prejudice! Sometimes it’s so obvious, I forget about it. πŸ˜‰ The Shadow of the Wind is still waiting to be read on my shelf. Hopefully I can get to it soon! Great list!

    • Haha, yep, it definitely is one of the more obvi ones but I feel like no ‘favourites’ list of mine would be complete without it! The Shadow of the Wind is *amazing* and I recommend it to everyone all the time. It’s so underrated and I don’t know why πŸ˜‚ I hope you enjoy it if you do pick it up!
