#WWWWednesday: 20 July 2022

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Since last week I’ve managed to finish two books. Its been a very slow reading week and it took me much longer than anticipated to finish the fantasy I was reading—not because I didn’t enjoy it because it’s top tier fantasy but I don’t think I was in the right headspace for it.

(ARC) The Jasmine Throne (Burning Kingdoms #1) by Tasha Suri ★★★★½ (rounded up)
This was an incredible epic fantasy that encompasses so many amazing magical, cultural and sociopolitical elements, however, it is quite the slow burn and quite the chonkster at close to 600 pages. I’m sad that I feel like I read this as the wrong time because it was such a patchy/ interrupted reading period but my brain is still in awe of this amazing Indian-inspired world Suri created. 🤯

(KU) A Governess Should Never... Tempt A Prizefighter (The Governess Chronicles #1) by Emily Windsor ★★★★☆
I forgot how much I enjoy Windsor’s historical romances but I’m glad this reminded me of it. This was witty, funny and heartfelt! Matilda and Seth have a beautifully soft and swoony romance and I loved their opposites-attract connection. Plus, I loved the father-daughter relationship between Seth and his daughter Chloe, and the connection that forms between her and Matilda!

I’m feeling in a bit of a weird mood that I think is affecting my reading but I’m hoping It’s All In How You Fall by Sarah Henning will help life me out of this funk. Doesn’t this look like the perfect summer read?

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends! 😍

  2. I am so annoyed with my reading mood this month. It’s been terrible and I’m hoping one of our two upcoming buddy reads will knock me out of it!! I am so glad to see your rating for Jasmine Throne. I was worried it was less since you’ve mentioned you weren’t in the right headspace. I can totally get that though! I hope you start finding your groove again. I know that you have been busy though. To another week, my friend! ❤
