#WWWWednesday: 06 July 2022

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Since last week I’ve managed to finish two books and I’m happy to report that I really enjoyed both!

(ARC) Blood and Moonlight by Erin Beaty ★★★★½ (rounded up)
I really enjoyed this one and ended up reading it in one sitting—this is a YA fantasy thriller that I just didn’t want to put down! It wasn’t exploding with action but I enjoyed the mystery and although it’s a bit more thriller than fantasy, I loved the moon magick elements! Check out my review

(KU) Blind Side by Kandi Steiner ★★★★☆
This was my first book by Steiner and it didn’t disappoint. This is a sports romance featuring the fake-dating trope and the popular jock-shy book nerd pairing. It was a little angsty, a lot of fun, and had a good dose of steamy (ft. moments from the heroine’s favourite smutty romances)! 😉

I’ve got three reads going on at the minute and I’m ironically finding very little time to read them 😂

I’m still reading The Inadequate Heir with Leslie and Julie. We’re taking our time with this one and while we’re enjoying it, it hasn’t grabbed us in the same way as the first two books.

I started Nura and the Immortal Palace last night and I’m about 15% into it. I think things are starting to pick up now and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

I’m reading The Jasmine Throne with Jess and I have to be honest, I haven’t got very far yet… BUT I’m so ready to dive in fully soon.

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends! 😍

  1. hey, you doubled my reads in the last week. hehe!! I know, it’s been so hard to find reading time as well. I know, you have a lot going on but we get in these spurts. Maybe next week we will read like 5 books! lol. I’m planning on reading Jasmine Throne next week…. If I can get a couple arcs finished! Hopefully, we get sucked into our buddy read and we bust it out soon. Julie is probably so over waiting on us. haha! I hope you have a great week, my friend! ❤

    • It’s been so hard to find time to read. I can’t believe I’m reading The Inadequate Heir *so* slowly—it’s honestly driving me up the wall a bit 🙈 it’s just been so busy… I do miss my alone time, Leslie! LOL at the rate I’m going I’ll probably still be reading The Jasmine Throne so if you wanna chat about it, let’s chat! 😍 I hope you’ve had an amazing week and have a fab weekend, friend! 💜

      • I totally understand how it’s driving you crazy. My reading has been soooo very slow and it’s making my anxiety so bad. I’m barely keeping up with arcs. I haven’t touched my own copy of a book in weeks! UGH. Okay, I’m going to try and finish out another arc and then I’ll pick up Jasmine Throne. We also both have Violet Made of Thorns at the end of the month?? We were going to br that right?

  2. I hate to hear that The Inadequate Heir isn’t grabbing y’all the same. Bummer! Blind Side is on my TBR, so I’m looking forward to that one. I see you’re about to read the second Daevabad book. I somehow missed your thoughts on the first book. What did you think?

    • I also feel like it could be circumstance right now cos I’m not giving it the same level of attention as I did the first two books. But I am enjoying it! I love Keris 😍 and now I’m at 70% it’s really picked up! Blind Side was really fun and I can’t wait to check out more by Steiner. I hope you enjoy it!

The first Daevabad book started off rough for me. I wasn’t sure I was going to love it but then the last 15-20% really brought it up for me and made me *so* excited for the next book in the series. It’s definitely a slow burn but I feel worth it to stick out!

      • The first two Daevabad books are slow for the first half. The last book is fantastic from start to finish. It’s worth all the slowness you have to slog through.

  3. The Jasmine Throne has been on my TBR ever since it came out…gosh I’m a slow reader/too many books & too little time! I recently added This Vicious Grace to my TBR as well because it sounds super intriguing and it’s about time for another read with some romance for me…I’ve read some heavier topic books lately, breaking my no nonfiction spell haha.

    • There really are too many books and never enough time! My brain always gets sidetracked by all these books that pop up on my radar—I really wish that I could read faster (or that I had as much time to read as I did before, lol)! I’m giving Jasmine Throne my full attention right now and it’s a slow burn but I’m really enjoying the world building. TVG is one that I’m super excited to read ASAP cos I keep seeing amazing things about it. Also, it’s always great to switch things up with romance 😉 I hope you’re enjoying whatever you’re reading!
