#TopTenTuesday: Books with Adjectives in the Title!

So, we’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s prompt is: Books with an Adjective in the Title (Submitted by Nicole @ How to Train a Book Dragon)

This was a fun little prompt to test my knowledge of grammar! 😂 I decided to focus today’s list on the books that are just waiting to be read on my Kindle and I was honestly surprised by how far down my list I had to go to find ten titles but we finally got there in the end! To start, let’s take a look at what the definition of an adjective is:

An adjective is a word that modifies a noun or a pronoun. In general, the purpose of an adjective is to describe a noun or pronoun and provide more information about it. Adjectives provide answers to questions such as “What kind?” “Which one?” and “Whose is it?”

The Raven King by Maggie Steifvater
The Red Palace by June Hur
The Game Plan by Kristen Callihan
The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah
The Rigid Duke by Darcy Burke

In Deeper Waters by F. T. Lukens
Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse
Plain Bad Heroines by Emily Danforth
Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao
A Spark of Fire by Sangu Mandanna

Did you have a hard time finding books with adjectives in the title for today’s list? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR?

    • All of these are on my TBR still so I haven’t read it yet. But I have read two of Hannah’s books previously and loved them so I have high hopes for this one? *fingers crossed!* 😂

  1. Dini, I did my first top ten tuesday post after always seeing yours come through! Thanks for the inspiration. 🙂 I had so many on my list that I’m surprised you had to find them! The definition is critical I think… I kept doubting myself. xD Granted I’ve only heard of 2 of the books on your list so maybe I have some things to add. The cover for The Raven King, goodness…

  2. I love how you included the definition of an adjective! Every time I wrote one of my selections down, I was totally triple checking myself to make sure there was an adjective in there. 😂 I was like “I don’t want to put something down and everyone is like…. where is the adjective?!” 😂 hahaha. Great post Dini!

  3. There are so many books with adjectives in the title, it’s almost harder to find books without them, that was the feeling I had but others seem to have found it differently. Probably depends what kind of books we prefer.

My TTT this week is good, bad, and ugly.

  4. Great choices! I’m a huge fan of The Raven Cycle series, and The Four Winds is on my tbr, too. I’m so behind on all of Kristin Hannah’s latest books. 🤦‍♀️
