So, we’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s prompt is: Books With Your Favorite Trope/Theme (Submitted by Allona @ Rain Check & Read and Sara Beth @ Life, Love, Writing)
I mostly read romance these days so it’s no surprise that this list will focus on my favourite romance tropes! Honestly, there are so many that I love but I decided to focus today on hate to love/enemies to lovers/rivals to lovers and friends to lovers! I have a feeling the enemies to lovers trope will be a very popular pick today… 😉

Hate to love // enemies to lovers // rivals to lovers

- The Worst Guy – I’m going to take this moment to gush about one of my most recent favourite reads. This is grumpy x grumpy hate to love and it’s absolute *perfection*! check out my review
- Battle Royal – This was such a fun rivals-to-lovers romance with mature characters and so much delightful baked goods and ! 😍
- The Bridge Kingdom – These two are from countries that are historically enemies and their transformation from “I’ll tolerate you” to friends to lovers is a heart-pounding slow-burn that is all kinds of fantastic!
- The Simple Wild – Calla and Jonah definitely start off on the wrong foot but this hate to love romance set in the Alaskan wild is all kinds of swoony! check out my review
- Fated Blades – Their families are life-long enemies but when they find their spouses are cheating on them with each other, they team up to kick absolute ass. Their chemistry was undeniable!

(Best) friends to lovers

- Captain Heartbreaker – One of my favourite books from one of my favourite small-town romance series, and definitely one of my favourite best friends-to-lovers romances—lots of favourites and for very good reason (imo). This was so incredibly swoontastic! 🥰
- HIM – One of the first M/M romances I’ve read and I immediately got why it’s such a popular romance. Their attraction and chemistry was incendiary and holy hotness, it was much wow!!!
- Beneath Cruel Fathoms – These two develop a very tentative friendship and form such a strong bond that naturally branches into romantic territory. It was sweet and heartwrenchingly good and these two quiet, lonely souls are so perfect for each other! check out my review
- Go Deep – The friendship is amazing but their experimentation that leads to a more sexual relationship was even more so! They’re such a fun couple.
- Let’s Get Textual – I loved the way their friendship develops over many text messages and it was even better when they become lovers. I love couples who have such strong friendship foundations and Zach and Delia definitely had that! 😍 check out my review

What are some of your favourite tropes? Do you like friends to lovers or enemies to lovers romances? Have you read any of these books? What are some of your favourites? Gimme your recs—I’d love to add more to my TBR!

Enemies to lovers has been an incredibly popular pick this week!

I wonder why so many of our favorite tropes are in romances! haha. I am planning on reading Bridge Kingdom next week!!! I’m excited. haha. I’m also wondering why so many books have baked goods in them too. Is this like a factor to pull another sense into reading?!?! lol!

The Simple Wild… Calla and Jonah… swoon! And Him is one of my all-time favorites. No telling how many times I’ve read/listed to that one (and Us). That Brighton Walsh series is on my TBR!

The Worst Guy had to inspire the enemies on here! Haha! That is probably the best enemies book of all time! And friends to lovers… perfect choices with Him and all.

This is a tricky trope for me because if the enemy part goes on too long, I get sad and uncomfortable. I don’t hate the trope, but I don’t love it the way everyone else does. Though, the two books from your list that I read were both great.

The Bridge Kingdom is high on my tbr, I have heard great things about it. I love it when characters who are supposed to dislike each other slowly become friends and then fall in love, so I’m sure I’ll love this book. I loved Battle Royal and The Simple Wild, so I’m glad to see them on this list.

Have to love a good friends to more trope. Sometimes they’re not quite “good” just because they feel a bit too “hate-y” to then feel genuine, but I enjoy most I’ve seen or read. 🙂
