#WWWWednesday: 23 December 2021

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Post divider: What did you just finish reading?

Since last week I’ve managed to finish six books.

The One Night by Meghan Quinn ★★★★☆
I had such a fun time with this book! I have to say Cooper’s quirky parents really stole the show with their wingmen act 😂 I couldn’t stop laughing even though I’d probably be as mortified as he was if my parents did that to me IRL. I can’t wait to see what happens next with Cooper and Nora after that ending! RTC.

Window Shopping by Tessa Bailey ★★★★½
This was probably one of the more festive holiday romances that I’ve read in a while! It definitely gave me the cosy and happy Love Actually vibes and I wanted to join this mixed family in their yearly holiday festivities because it sounded like so much fun! Mae was a fun heroine and Andrew was a swoonworthy hero and although things got a bit cheesy towards the end, it didn’t fail to warm my heart! My review

Ink (7th & Main #1) by Elizabeth Hunter ★★★☆☆
I thought I’d love this one seeing as it’s about a tattoo artist and bookshop owner falling in love (two things I love) and while it wasn’t terrible, it wasn’t entirely memorable. The more I read, the more I lost interest and by the end I was ready to move on.

Oh. What. Fun. by Chandler Baker ★★★☆☆
I don’t really have much to say about this one other than it was a good dose of holiday cheer and madness. The Clausters are chaos personified (lol) and it took me a little while to get into the story because the narration was almost stream of (chaotic) consciousness but I ended up laughing out loud more as the plot got wilder! Let it be known, if we ever forgot mum, we’d all defo not make it past the day! 🙃 RTC.

The Bridge Kingdom (The Bridge Kingdom #1) by Danielle L. Jensen ★★★★★
Oh, the angst. 😮‍💨 I’m buddy reading this series with Julie and we sped through this first book so quickly and have immediately started the second book (so glad we started this with the second book out already cos holy smokes, it would suck to be stuck with that cliffhanger of an ending)! I loved this. Lara was bad ass, Aren was bad ass and a softie, and together they were *magic*! RTC.

The Traitor Queen (The Bridge Kingdom #2) by Danielle L. Jensen ★★★★★
An angst-filled, action-packed, high-stakes conclusion to the first part of the TBK series. I loved Aren and Lara so much and the tension between them in this book was so sharp it almost cut me. We’re reunited with character favourites and are introduced to awesome new characters, and although I found the ending was a bit rushed, I loved every minute in this story. I can’t wait for more books set in this world! RTC.

Post divider: What're you currently reading?

I couldn’t resist starting Homecoming King by Penny Reid (especially after reading Andie’s review!) and I’m loving it! 😍 Rex and Abby have such great chemistry and it feels like the romance is gonna be a slow burn and I’m so ready for some mutual pining! The only thing I’m missing is Rex’s POV—I have a feeling I’d love him so much more than I already do if we got his POV lol

To be continued… Eventually!

In other unsurprising news, I still haven’t touched Warbreaker (@ 53%), Hellbound Guilds & Other Misdirections (@ 30%) 🙈… I’ll get around to finishing these eventually… LOL

Post divider: what will you read next?

Anything is possible, especially in my current mood! 😂

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading! 😍

  3. I’m eager to hear what you think of Always, In December. And I’m hoping to read This Time Next Year at the end of the month/beginning of January, too. Hopefully we both can get to it. And enjoy it! Happy reading!

  4. I have The One Night and hope to read it soon along with The Reunion. Quinn’s been so solid for me lately, and I am glad to hear you enjoyed it. I love Reid. Her books are hilarious and King is a sports romance. Perfection for me
