#WWWWednesday: 08 December 2021

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Post divider: What did you just finish reading?

Since last week I’ve managed to finish five books. As usual, it’s been a bit of a mixed bag of romances from the romcoms to the paranormal reverse-harem erotica! 😂

Chef’s Kiss by Hank Jones & Jarrett Melendez; Illustrated by Danica Brine ★★★★★
I’ve found a new favourite graphic novel! This was simply too cute, too relatable, and basically, everything I love! We’ve got realistic friendships, a slow burn M/M romance, an awesome restaurant setting with lots of foodie goodness and a really endearing main character. I loved this so much! 😍 RTC closer to pub date!

A Not So Meet Cute by Meghan Quinn ★★★½
This started off really well for me—I liked the rom-com vibe and the cheeky and slightly antagonistic banter between Grace and Noah. Sadly, as the story progressed I found myself getting a little bored and I never felt fully invested in their romance. Though I did like their individual character development! RTC.

Battle Royal by Lucy Parker ★★★★★
Why oh why did I wait to read this? I absolutely adored this book! It was basically like a sugar rush and all the good feels rolled into one; although it does cover more serious topics such as loss, grief, and childhood neglect and trauma. However, these heavier moments were handled very well and I was amazed at how Parker was able to have me teary-eyed at one moment, and giggling like a silly goose at the next! Sylvie and Dom are heart-eyes for days! 😍 Read this with a sweet treat at the ready cos it will make you hungry! Definitely one of my favourite romances this year 🥰 RTC.

Sacrifice & Heir (Bloodline Vampires #1 & #2) by Katee Robert
I’ve wanted to read more Katee Robert and since this was on KU I scooped it up. This is defo a case of it’s me, not the book. There was little to no plot and basically, all sex with dominating and possessive vampires—which is fine if that’s what you want, but I was hoping there’d be a bit more to it! Robert’s writing was as always, fun and easy to read! Not sure if I’ll finish the trilogy but if I do it’ll be when the third book gets on KU next year.

Post divider: What're you currently reading?

I decided to listen to an audiobook yesterday while I was delayed at the airport and decided, on a whim, to pick up She Who Became the Sun. I don’t know what it is about this book that hasn’t sucked me in the way I expected it to because while I’m reading it I am enjoying it, but when I put it down I also don’t feel the urgency to pick it back up again. Y’know? While trying to clean up my Kindle the other day I also discovered I had Priestess of the White by Trudi Canavan, so I decided to start reading that on a whim too!

To be continued… Eventually!

In other unsurprising news, I still haven’t touched Warbreaker (@ 53%), Hellbound Guilds & Other Misdirections (@ 30%) 🙈… I’ll get around to finishing these eventually… LOL

Post divider: what will you read next?

Anything is possible, especially in my current mood! 😂

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading! 😍
