Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

I’m still in a funky reading mood so I’m kind of surprised that I managed to finish seven books, though a few of them were novellas or quick romances:
Man in Charge Duet by Laurelin Paige ★★½
I thought this duet started out promising. While not really standing out, it wasn’t terribly written and there was some intense sexual tension between the H/h, although there wasn’t much depth to their character. But by the time we hit drama-land and got to book two, I only gave it 2-stars for the smut cos the rest was just a hot hot mess! 🙈
Given to Darkness (Ikiri Book 2) by Phil Williams ★★★★☆
This story picks up right from where Kept from Cages leaves off and it was an absolutely thrilling and action-packed conclusion to the Ikiri duology. We reunite with the fantastic crew and experience more terrifying supernatural events, monsters and even zombies as we travel across continents in a race against time to stop Ikiri’s dark powers from spreading further. Check out my review!
The Keeper of Night (The Keeper of Night #1) by Kylie Lee Baker ★★★½
A gorgeously dark fantasy debut about identity, belonging, and family. The world building was exceptional and the Japanese lore was equal parts captivating and terrifying, and I can’t wait to see where the story goes. Check out my review!
Strum Your Heart Out (Sinful Serenade #2) by Crystal Kaswell ★★½
There was nothing particularly wrong with this book, I just felt that the excitement in the story waned after our H/h got together and then I just kept reading to finish the book. It was a very fast read, although I did end up skimming a few pages towards the middle and end (and that’s never really a good thing, is it?).
Forever Mine: Hayden & Savannah (Roommate Duet #0.5) by Kennedy Fox ★★★☆☆
This was a second-chance romance between high school sweethearts. It was a novella so I didn’t expect there to be a lot of character growth but it was an enjoyable read. While I wasn’t a fan of why they broke up in the first place and how the heroine kept insisting she was “too busy” for the hero, it was clear that years apart did not lessen their feelings for each other. I liked that it was the hero who moved for her instead of the other way around!
Once More Upon A Time by Roshani Chokshi ★★★★☆
This was another buddy read with Julie and as it was a novella, it was a very quick read! I really enjoyed this one 😃 The writing was delightful and well-paced. I loved the darker spin on some well-known fairytales, such as the 12 Dancing Princesses and Snow White, and I liked both Imelda and Ambrose. Aside from these two POVs, there was also a sassy voiced narrator whom I loved! Overall, a super fun remixed fairytale! RTC.

I’m still in a bit of a funky reading mood so I’ve been jumping books a lot! I’m still reading Warbreaker (@ 53% and still really enjoying it!) and I’m also still reading The Bastard’s Betrayal (@ 55%). I’m loving Robert’s book but I’m also feeling so distracted lately that I don’t want it to affect my feelings for it. Does this happen to anyone else or just me? 😂 I also started To Hate Adam Connor on a whim earlier this morning and I’m @ 10%.

Still 30% through Hellbound Guilds & Other Misdirections and I’ve still made zero progress with She Who Became the Sun… Welp, I’m kinda sad I’m not as into this as I thought I would be…? Maybe I just need to be in a more focused reading mood? 😬

I’ll be doing another buddy with Julie for OMUAT next week and I can’t wait! Of course, there are more ARCs, more tours… and probably a lot more romance! 😉

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading! 😍

I hope you love To Hate Adam Connor! I liked that one more than the first.

I don’t know this Adam Connor, but I am intrigued (even if it’s a bit long for a contemporary romance)

I am officially a big fan of Adam Connor! I wasn’t a big fan of the first book but I’m really enjoying this one so much more (and a lot of that is to do with him)! 😉

Forever Mine was enjoyable but not long enough to really set the stage for the series. I binged the whole series this year and inhaled each book like candy! LOL
