Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

I’ve spent a good chunk of my Sunday starting and finishing A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson. I’m so glad that I can check this one off my TBR now!

This book has so much hype around it and I’m happy to say that I can totally see why. It was well-paced and Jackson kept me on the edge of my seat wondering whodunit because this story is full of shady AF characters and had some delightful twisty turns! 😂 Pippa is such a great character and her family and friends were so entertaining, too. This was so unputdownable that I read it in the span of a few hours, and I can’t wait to read the next two books in this series very soon!

The case is closed. Five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by Sal Singh. The police know he did it. Everyone in town knows he did it.

But having grown up in the same small town that was consumed by the crime, Pippa Fitz-Amobi isn’t so sure. When she chooses the case as the topic for her final project, she starts to uncover secrets that someone in town desperately wants to stay hidden. And if the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth … ?

Not much happened this week! Work sent me into a bit of a slump so I was more than happy when Wednesday rolled around and my “weekend” could begin! I spent a lot of this week painting and my cousin and I made our “instagram debut” on my sister’s company page as we helped her create some content for their new paint-by-numbers kit. 😂 It’s such an addicting hobby and I’ve been enjoying painting while listening to some of my favourite tunes.

I ended up wanting to sink into some heavily comforting shows/movies by the time the actual weekend rolled around and so I watched Moana, Frozen, The Princess and the Frog and Hamilton (which I ended up watching 2.5 times). Ngl, I’m still stupidly obsessed with this musical and even after all this time I still can’t get enough of these songs and lyrics! 😂

I’m sorry I’ve been a little slow in responding to comments and blog hopping this week! I’ve been feeling a little lethargic but as I’ve mentioned above, I’ve also spent a lot of time painting and watching movies and before I knew it it was past midnight and… I hadn’t done anything! Next week will be better!

I’ve been reading pretty steadily this week (I think) but I can’t believe it’s already September! There’s one readathon that I said I wanted to participate in this month (The Magical Readathon) but I haven’t even set out some possibilities for those prompts. I’m going to work on that though and hopefully get a post up by tomorrow evening! Anyone else doing this amazing readathon?

Here’s a quick recap of what I’ve posted this week:

First Lines Friday: 03 September 2021
August Monthly Wrap Up!
Book Tour Review: Dark and Shallow Lies by Ginny Myers Sain
#TopTenTuesday: New Fictional Favourites

    • Yay! I know we technically only read two books but since I’m ambitiously joining the readathon I thought I might as well try to read for all the prompts! I had a fun time making my possibility pile for it and I’m looking forward to diving in (soon). Happy reading 😍

    • I’m glad I finally got around to reading it and I can understand the hype 😂 I hope you enjoy it too, whenever you get round to it! Painting by numbers is super addictive, especially for someone as artistically challenged as me! 🙈 Hope you have a great week, too, Tessa!

  1. I can relate to the Hamilton obsession. And I absolutely love A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. So glad you’re finally getting to enjoy it. I’m so looking forward to getting my hands on the third book in the series.

    • It took me way too long to get to A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder even though I’ve been hearing about it everywhere for what seems like forever 😂 Also, paint by numbers kits are SO fun, I would defo recommend it! Happy reading, Andie 😊
