Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

Since last week, I’ve managed to finish four books and I’m happy to say that all of them were ARCs—yay! 😍
(ARC) Shadow Frost (Shadow Frost #1) by Coco Ma ★★☆☆☆
I’m honestly quite proud for having finished this book because it was a bit of a… slog at times. I’m still very impressed Coco Ma wrote this when was 15?! Mind blown! 🤯 Sadly, I think younger me would’ve loved this much more than adult me did. It’s chock full of YA fantasy tropes (which isn’t bad if you like them!) but it was the characters that were more of a miss for me than anything else. Check out my full review.
(ARC) Fireborn by Aisling Fowler ★★★★½
Revenge of the Sluts was an interesting YA contemporary that had a bit of a mystery to it. It’s not a fast-paced book but it was engaging enough and the writing simple enough for me to quickly work through the pages. While I didn’t think any of the characters stood out, and neither did I like the representation of the MC, I think it’s a book that can generate discussions about privacy, cyberbullying, revenge porn, slut-shaming, toxic masculinity and society’s double standards, especially amongst the targeted young readers! Check out my full review.
(ARC) The Meeting Point by Olivia Lara – RTC
I read this for ongoing The Write Reads blog tour and I have my spotlight going up for it tomorrow 😊 It’s getting some pretty grand reviews, so if you want to check it out you can check out the many tweets for it here.
(ARC) Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune ★★★★☆
This was a buddy read with Leslie and we devoured it! TJ Klune really has a knack for writing books that are cosy and heartbreaking at the same time—this one had me laughing out loud multiple times but by the end I was also ugly crying pretty hard 😂 It was a pretty slow burn and the plot did meander slightly but it was the characters that kept me speeding on to the end. Oh my heart, I loved these characters so freaking much! If you enjoyed The House in the Cerulean chances are you’ll enjoy this one, too. RTC.

Since I finished my last book in the early hours this morning I haven’t yet chosen what I want to read next. I’m thinking that I might pick up a romance but there is also one contemporary that I feel like reading as well, so these are the titles I’m thinking of at the moment: Slippery Creatures, Battle Royal, The Bastard’s Betrayal, and Before the Coffee Gets Cold.

I’m not sure what kind of mood I’m in right now. I’ve been reading loads of romance but I think I’m starting to crave a little bit more fantasy as well… So these are some options, a good mix of arcs and owned releases!

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading! 😍

I hope you enjoy Battle Royal! I really liked it.

I took a peek at it last night and immediately knew that I was gonna love it — I don’t know why I didn’t just keep reading it but I just want to savour it so maybe when I’m in a more fitting mood 😂

I love this list!
“Under the Whispering Tree” and “Before the Coffee Gets Cold” are on my TBR List. I’ve also been reading “Seven Days in June” over the course of this month and mentioned “She Who Became the Sun” in my own WWW Wednesday post.

I’m reading Before the Coffee Gets Cold right now and I already feel like it’s gonna be a bit of a tearjerker (though I am a fairly emotional reader lol)! I’m really enjoying it though. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Seven Days in June and SWBTS! I hope you are enjoying both 😊
