Since last Wednesday I’ve finished five books and basically I’ve finished an NA romance series, picked up the first book in the spin-off NA series and finished my buddy read for a contemporary romance. It’d be super accurate to say that my February is shaping up to (unintentionally) be a month of all the romance! Other than my two scheduled blog tour reads this month, I think I just might stick to the romance kick until the month ends but as a mood reader, it’s possible this could change on a whim. 😂

The Chase (Briar U #1) by Elle Kennedy ★★★☆☆
I’m planning to write a series review for Off-Campus and I’m going to clump in The Chase in that review as well because I don’t think I’ll be continuing the Briar U series… While this series was a whole lot of fun banter, feisty heroines and smouldering heroes, I felt that the crazy college party and sex vibe of the story became too much in the end and the quality of the romances suffered for it. There were definitely great moments, I still rated the books 3+stars but the constant reminder that these players could get all the girls they wanted and that they frequently did prior to meeting their heroines became pretty gross and tiring in the end. 😅 Full series review to come soon!
The Switch by Beth O’Leary ★★★★☆ (maybe 4.5 stars, I need to sleep on it lol)
Shifting to adult contemporary romance, I’m so glad I finally picked this up thanks to my buddy read with Leslie! There were some elements that I wish had been done better but overall, it was a heartwarming, touching and absolutely hilarious romance that I would definitely read again! Surprisingly, it was Grandma and not Leena that stole the show for me in this one. O’Leary has officially cemented her place on my auto buy authors list and I can’t wait to read whatever she comes out with next. Full RTC!
I’ll be focusing my attention on finishing Bad Habits as my tour date is this coming Friday. While it does get a little OTT at times, this book is absolutely hilarious and I can’t wait to see what happens in the latter half (I’m about 55% through). I’m not quite sure what I’ll read after but I do think I want to keep on the romance track. I’m leaning towards Take A Hint, Dani Brown and/or HIM and/or maybe something by Zapata, as it’s been a while?
I’m starting a buddy read with Sammie next week for Aurora Rising and then I also have my last blog tour read at the tail end of this month for Aether Ones! I’m not planning on any other set reads this month so let’s see where the mood takes me 😍

I AM SO HAPPY YOU BINGED ON THE OFF CAMPUS SERIES!!! I think you should read at least the next book. The Risk was my favorite in the Briar U series. You should read Him next.

I did see the ratings for The Risk were really high in comparison to the other books in the Briar U series. Honestly, my curiosity was piqued seeing that it was about Brenna and Jake! Their potential hate-love sparks in The Chase were giving me those thrill vibes 😂 Maybe I’ll pick it up after taking a smol break first! Lol

Ohh I agree w/ your thoughts on the Off Campus books! I read the first four as they came out, but then the “new” ones came out and I tried to read them one after the other and it just got tiring and predictable. But still fun reads for when I’m in a slump! I ADORE him – hockey romances get me every.single.time! Hope you have a great reading week! ♥

These books are definitely good for those slump-ish feels. I think that’s why I’ve been devouring them as my mood has been a bit whacko and I don’t know what else to read 😂 I’ve heard really great things about HIM so I’m definitely looking forward to checking it out! Aw, I’m sorry to hear that, Leah! I hate those darn declined notifications 😫 If it makes you feel any better, I wouldn’t have even been able to request the ARC in the first place as an international reader so I always have to wait? You’re not alone! 😅
