Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

Since last week I’ve managed to read six books. If you can’t tell by the books I’m reading, I’m definitely in a romance mood. All but one of the books I read were scifi/fantasy romance and I think that mood might be sticking around for a bit longer cos I’m (mostly) enjoying myself with these books! 😂
At the Edge of the Haight by Katherine Seligman ★★¾
While this was not the fast-paced plot-driven story that I had expected, I am still glad that I read it. I thought Seligman did really well in connecting us to those who are a part of society that many don’t give the time of day to understand. It was a bummer then that I didn’t connect to the characters and that resulted in me not feeling anything about the story. Check out my review!
Taken to Heimo (Xiveri Mates #4) by Elizabeth Stephens ★★★★☆
It’s the romance I’ve been waiting for since reading the first book of this series and while the romance, the steaminess and the banter was everything that I love about Stephens’ series, I wish we spent more time exploring what made Svera and Krisxox unique characters. I wanted to learn more about Krisxox’s Drakesh background and about Svera’s Tri-God’s religion. It was still pretty satisfying for them to *finally* give into their attraction though cos *wooh* that steam! 😂 RTC.
Choosing Theo (Clecanian #1) by Victoria Aveline ★★★★½
I picked this alien romance up on a whim and was surprised to find that I really enjoyed it! Unlike Stephens’ Xiveri Mates series (which is the only other alien romance I’ve read), the alien species in this book were human-like. I really enjoyed Jade’s feisty attitude and I loved watching Theo welcome her into his life. Their chemistry was off the charts and their banter was too good! I also really enjoyed the world building and learning about this matriarchal alien society! RTC.
Freeing Luka (Clecanian #2) by Victoria Aveline ★★★☆☆
I picked this up right after I finished the first book and sadly I didn’t enjoy Luka’s story as much as Theo’s. Alice and Luka’s romance was a lot more insta-love and I didn’t end up feeling their connection as much. What I did enjoy was learning more about Clecania, especially the wild life! RTC.
Fortuna Sworn (Fortuna Sworn #1) by K.J. Sutton ★★★½
I had mixed feelings about this book although still mostly positive. I was pulled into the story quickly and couldn’t wait to come back to it asap. It’s definitely heavy on the dark and less so on the romance (surprisingly) but there are love triangle vibes that *eh* we know how I feel about triangles. 🤷🏻♀️ I liked Fortuna and watching her slip to the ‘dark side’. The ending was so juicy that I had to pick up book two immediately! RTC.
Restless Slumber (Fortuna Sworn #2) by K.J. Sutton ★★☆☆☆
I finished this last night but UGH. I was pissed! I was enjoying it for the most part until the last 20% where I was just screaming at Fortuna and everything that was happening. It tanked for me. Just… No. WHY?! I was tired after we got to the last part. 🙃 I’m still upset thinking about it and it honestly made me not want to continue the series (lol) but I’m a masochist so… 🤷🏻♀️🙈 RTC.

Yeah, I started Deadly Dreams but I think I’m going to put it aside for now and focus on White Trash Warlock and The Death of Honor which are two upcoming blog tour reads. It’s still early days for WTT but I’m enjoying it and I’m really liking Adam’s character! So many bloggers are loving this one so I’m excited to continue (although a bit scared cos it’s scary LOL). I’ve started TDoH and I’m going through phases of enjoying it and not really feeling it. The writing style is what gets to me so let’s see how it goes!

I have some more blog tour reads that I need to get on and that I’m looking forward to reading! I’m leaning towards Bad Habits because I think I could do with some comedy right now 😂

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading! 😍

Wow these all sound really good. I am definitely going to have to check them out! Congrats on reading so many books since last week; that is amazing!! Hope you are enjoying your current reads! Happy reading😊

Aaaah, that reminds me that I have to read Bad habits as well for the blog tour. I don’t wanna get behind on my arc reading. 🙂
I hope you have fun with your current reads. Six books in a week is really good! 🙂

Oh my gosh, Krisxox and Svera! I enjoyed their story so much! That’s such a good series! I liked Fortuna sworn too, but I didn’t love the second one as much as the first. It went really dark, and I was so not prepared for that! I liked the third book though and was super shocked at some of the revelations toward the end. And I loved Choosing Theo! Can I move to that planet, please?! lol

Sorry that the Fortuna books didn’t work out, that’s a shame because they look really good!
