#WWWWednesday: 27 May

Um, excuse me, how is it already the last Wednesday in May?! Can someone also please tell me where this month has gone? I feel like I’ve done nothing but I *know* I did the things… What are these vibes?!

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Since last Wednesday I’ve managed to read a little bit more than the previous week. Still not my best reading weeks these days but work has been driving me mental and the added stress of a big island move during this pandemic (admittedly the worst time to be moving anywhere) is making my ‘normal’ levels of anxiety sky-rocket. But I’ve been enjoying my escape into hell these last few days! What am I talking about? Don’t worry, I haven’t lost the plot completely (yet).

I’ve been reading The Great Devil War series by Kevin B. Andersen lately and I’m sure you can guess what it’s about based on the series name. I’m planning to share one review for the three books I read later tonight, as the fifth book releases tomorrow! 🥳

I’m currently reading the fifth book in The Great Devil War series: The Fallen Angel. This book comes out tomorrow and I think this cover is my favourite out of all the books in the series so far! I love the details in the character on the cover and I’m really curious to know how that is on the cover — could it be Satan (even though that’s not how the Devil is described to look in the book) or is it another fallen angel!? So many questions I hope get answered! I have to admit, I haven’t been a fan of Philip’s attitude at the start of this book. He’s no angel but this isn’t the Devil Philip that I like — he’s being an annoying and petulant teenager 🤣

To say that I’m participating in an insane number of blog tours this June would perhaps be a slight understatement. I think I have about 2-3 every week until the end of the month and July is looking to be the same 😂 Maybe to some that’s not a lot but considering I never participated in a blog tour until December 2019, this is a lot for me! I’m glad it’s pushing me to read though because otherwise I’d let my pandemic-laziness take over and I’d just end up gaming all the time.

How is your reading week going and what are you currently reading?

    • Blog tours are when specific books are being promoted for a set period of time. There are a few people/groups (like Rachel’s Random Resources or Fantastic Flying Book Club) that organise these tours for bloggers. A lot of the time it’s for books that are coming out so readers get to read copies in advance. Other times it can be for books that have already been released but the author wants more promo. They’re really fun to do and help you step out of your comfort zone a lot of the times (for me anyway)! 😀
