Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

You know how I was saying I was reading tons last week? Well, that was a bit of a false start! LOL but it’s okay… Right?! 🤣It’s definitely a quite post this week… Since last Wednesday I’ve only managed to read one book because work has been mental and I’ve been doing a lot of overtime even at the weekend and it’s draining!

The Plus One Pact by Portia Macintosh ★★★☆☆
Despite a funny and hopeful start, this one ended up being just an okay read for me. I did enjoy it — the heroine’s humour was great and as someone also in their 30s, I really related to the heroine’s experiences. However, the character development was really lacking and we were told a lot instead of shown, so I didn’t feel the chemistry as much as I’d expected to. It had a lot of potential but unfortunately it missed the mark. Still, not a bad read just not a favourite. My blog tour review is coming up next week!

I’m currently still reading The Die of Death and while I am enjoying it, it’s taking me longer to get into it than I expected. This is entirely on me and not the book at all because I’ve been so distracted with work, my brain is just mush by the time evening rolls around and I’m feeling quite restless. Not a good recipe for relaxing reading time but I’m slowly making my way through and enjoying the ride!

I’m definitely prioritising these reads as part of the ARC team and I’m excited to get to them! There’s also something about these covers, especially for book V, that I love 😍

How is your reading week going and what are you currently reading?

I love The Devil’s Apprentice series. Hope you can get to a place with work where you can enjoy them all 🙂

Have you finished the whole series? I’m reading this one a bit slowly but now that I’m past the 50 mark it’s moving a bit faster! Looking forward to just tucking in this weekend with the rest of the books! Hope you’ve had a good week, Tessa 🙂

I have read all 5. They get darker and more complex as they go along but still move pretty quickly. 3 ends in a cliffhanger so 4 moves fast from the get-go. Hope your week is good, as well ❤️

Omg that’s so exciting! I just started 3 now and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next 😀 It’s already pretty tense… I’m curious to see if Satina’s role changes after book two… 🧐

The Plus One Pact sounded really cute. Too bad it didn’t live up to expectations. It’s hard to feel invested in a couple when you don’t feel the chemistry.

Yep. It was very much all tell and no show, which is a pity because I really enjoyed the humour in this book and the characters (or what we saw of them so far) weren’t bad either!

I loved the first book in the Andersen series. I imagine it must keep getting better if you are still going with it!

I’m enjoying it. There are some things I’m not a fan of (like unnecessary romancing) but I’m really liking Andersen’s imagination of Hell and the Underworlds and Paradise. Such vivid descriptions!

Yeah you know I agree with you !00% on the unnecessary romancing. So no argument here!
