We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt is books I bought because of… bookstagram!
I’m sure by now you’re all aware that book Instagram or bookstagram exists. You might even have one and run it alongside your blog! Some days it’s hard to believe that I actually started on bookstagram and then took the big leap to start a book blog. It’s especially hard to believe now since I’ve basically all but abandoned my bookstagram 🙈 #shame But while I have you here (*shameless plug*), feel free to check out my bookstagram and follow me if you feel so inclined: @dinipandareads!
Last year I started a bookstagram and got quickly sucked into the book community! I fell hard and fast for all the beautiful hardcovers and gorgeous accounts. I tried to “keep up” with the good-looking posts by buying props etc. but it’s so hard to find quality things here I decided I didn’t want to spend all that money for it! LOL, but there’s seriously something about seeing gorgeous books in aesthetically pleasing photos that give me some serious *grabby hands* feels. Does that only happen to me?! 😂 So here are some of the books that I absolutely needed to get my hands on all thanks to the ‘gram! Honestly, if it wasn’t for bookstagram I probably would’ve never even heard of some of these, so I really can’t be that mad, right?!

Confession time: How many of you have also bought books because of a gorgeous cover and aesthetically pleasing bookstagram post?!

I love getting recommendations from bookstagram! It’s so fun seeing what everyone is reading. Great list!

What a great group of books! I won’t even say how many books I’ve grabbed based on the covers … several. 😂 But you reminded me I need to finally get around to The Familiars—and The Binding looks fantastic. I haven’t heard of it before, but I love the idea of alternate universe/semi-historical fiction/magical realism.

Ah, yes! Great topic choice! I was also a bookstagrammer first and so many of my book choices came from there. Some of these are actually new to me, so I’ll be checking those out now. And I’m finally reading The Simple Wild! Can you believe it?? Loving it so far. ❤

The Simple Wild is one of my favorites. Between the story and the characters and the setting I just fell for it completely.

I hope you read ‘The Binding’ soon, I absolutely adored it! I’ve been tempted to pick up a lot of these books because of their covers and I have definitely picked up other books because of instagram!

My Bookstagram account is so sadly neglected, but you’re right- there are so many amazing ones out there, and I have definitely gotten book ideas from peoples’ posts! The Simple Wild looks really good, and I loved Recursion!!!

Yeah, Bookstagram is too overwhelming for me. I can’t possibly compete or keep up, so I don’t bother trying! I’m glad it’s yielded some great reading recommendations for you. I loved WITH THE FIRE ON HIGH. The writing is gorgeous. MIRACLE CREEK had an interesting premise, but I didn’t like any of the characters, so that made it not my favorite read. RECURSION is one I really need to get to. I love Blake Crouch!
Happy TTT!

The ‘ gram is beautiful and intimidating too when you try to keep up, isn’t it? But you’re right, it’s such a great way to find new books, especially with beautiful covers.
