Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp [34]

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve been you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

I’ve spent this Sunday finishing up The Snowman. This was a pretty dense thriller but I do find that I struggle a lot with books written by Scandinavian authors… I don’t know why. But that means it took me a while longer than I expected to finish this book, though I’m glad I finally read it and tried my first Jo Nesbø!

Soon the first snow will come
A young boy wakes to find his mother missing. Outside, he sees her favourite scarf – wrapped around the neck of a snowman.
And then he will appear again
Detective Harry Hole soon discovers that an alarming number of wives and mothers have gone missing over the years.
And when the snow is gone…
When a second woman disappears, Harry’s worst suspicion is confirmed: a serial killer is operating on his home turf.
…he will have taken someone else

Another week over, another Sunday come and gone in the blink of an eye! What’s new, eh? This weekend I was planning on doing absolutely nothing but a family incident and work meant that I didn’t get to do much of nothing in the end! As always, the end of the year always brings the unexpected. But hopefully the work week starts winding down a little as we get closer to Christmas and people start taking their final days of leave for the year! My parents and sister will be coming to Bali next week. They’ll be visiting in Bali through to the New Year so I’ll be getting some good quality time hanging out with them after work and on weekends 🙂 I’m excited to see them again!

Reading & Blogging Recap

I’ve read two graphic novels and three regular length novels since last Sunday. I finally finished reading Darkdawn and while it was a pretty epic ending to a fantastic series, and all the questions I had were answered in the end, it wasn’t my favorite book of the trilogy. I’m rating it ★★★★☆ and my full review is still to come (yes, I lied when I said that I would have it up the day after reading it)! This series has definitely bumped Kristoff up on my favorites list and I’m looking forward to starting another one of his series soon. Most of the books I read this week were to complete the third and final task of the Triwizardathon! It was great fun participating in this readathon and although I didn’t read all the books I set out to (are we surprised?) I’m still pretty chuffed with what I did read. I’m keen to participate in some more readathons/challenges next year so if you know of any, let me know what they are in the comments!

As always, you can find a list of the posts I made this week down below, just in case you missed any 😉

  1. Such a great reading week!! It can be hard to manage everything this time of year. My family has a way of pulling my attention in five different directions at once haha. We’re the frantic last minute shopper kind who always seem to need advice on what to gift people they’ve known as long as I have 😂 I’m currently reading The Other Miss Bridgerton… it’s so witty and fun! Plus… PIRATES! (I blame the Top 5 Sat for my newest addiction haha) Honestly, historical romance this time of year just makes me so happy! 💕

  2. My mum read The Snowman and I think she enjoyed it too!!
I need to read the Nevernight series so I’m glad you really like it!! I think the covers for this series as wonderful too! You did well fro reading this week, I read the Night Circus and finished Ninth House last week!!
I hope you have a great end of the year and spend some lovely time with your family!! 🙂
