#WWWWednesday: 11 December

It’s time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

What did you read last?

It seems like I haven’t read very much at all since last Wednesday 😅I’m kind of wondering why but also, I’ve been in a bit of a gaming mood lately and pretty much spent the majority of my days doing other things than reading… But i did manage to finish three books since last Wednesday.

(Blog Tour) The Devil’s Apprentice (The Great Devil War I) by Kenneth B. Andersen ★★★★☆
I read this as part of the #UltimateBlogTour with the WriteReads gang and I’m so glad that I got the chance to read it! I didn’t think that I’d enjoy this book as much as I did but it was a fun, fast-paced and entertaining story about a young boy who has to survive being sent to hell by accident. Read my full review here!

(eARC) Human by Diego Agrimbau, Lucas Varela ★★★☆☆
The cover of this graphic novel is what first caught my eye as I was browsing through NetGalley. While this was a thought-provoking read about humans and how we continuously seek to change the world around us, I didn’t really love it. I think a lot of that had to do with the illustration style (sorry to say!)… But it did make me think about how humans seem to believe we always know best and even though we may be well intentioned, what we think is best for us most likely isn’t what’s best for everything else around us (i.e. Earth and mother nature). (eARC) Under the Cottonwood Tree: El Susto de la Curadera by Paul Meyer, Carlos Meyer ★★★★★
I knew I would love this graphic novel the minute I started reading it! It’s a beautifully illustrated novel of magic, Mexican folklore and culture, and family, friendship, grief and love. This was a fast-paced read and I finished it in one sitting because once I started I didn’t want to stop. There are some Spanish words in the dialogue but at the back the authors included a glossary of terms which YES, I LOVED! I think it’s so great when authors do that. The foreword and afterword the authors included also made me love this one even more as you could really tell how this story was close to their hearts. It’s well worth picking up if you’re looking for a new graphic novel to read. My full review is coming soon so be on the look out for it!

What are you currently reading?

It’s finally happening friends! I’m reading Darkdawn and just as I predicted, it is completely shattering my heart and soul. I’m so mad but I also knew this was coming so I can’t really be mad? It’s amazing. It’s crazy freaking ridonkulous. It’s everything I was expecting and hoping to find in the final to this jaw-dropping series. It sucks that none of my IRL people read or probably would read this series, but I’m so glad for my book loving friends, such as Sammie, who I have been crying to over on Twitter about this. I’m 76% through the book and I honestly don’t know how I’m going to avoid slipping into a reading slump after I finish it!

What will you read next?

I started Descendant of the Crane before Darkdawn but I knew that would be pushed aside the minute that I picked that book up, but I’ll be coming back to it after. I think I’ll also pick up The Snowman next because it’s one of the books I plan to read for the final task of the Triwizardathon! I don’t know if I’ll be able to read more this week but I’m also going to try squeezing in Bad Blood if I can since t’s also one of my books for the readathon!

What are you currently reading? How’s your week going?

    • It is, it is! But so heartbreaking. Well, the whole series is actually. Kristoff has an iron grip on my emotions and he’s being so cruel with it 😂I love and hate it. Haha I hope you enjoy Godsgrave!
