Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp [31]

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve been you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

I’ve spent this Sunday in and out of bed with TH1RT3EN (Eddie Flynn #4) by Steve Cavanagh. I received the e-ARC of this thriller earlier this year and for some reason I kept putting it off until last night. Since I started reading it last night, I’ve kind of sped through it. It’s pretty twisted and the POV of the serial killer (yes, we know who the serial killer is from the start) can get pretty graphic, but as always when reading thrillers, it’s hooked me in and I’m impatiently waiting to see how it all unfolds! I’ve gotta feeling it’s gonna be a pretty wild ride 😅

The serial killer isn’t on trial.
He’s on the jury…

They were Hollywood’s hottest power couple. They had the world at their feet. Now one of them is dead and Hollywood star Robert Solomon is charged with the brutal murder of his beautiful wife. This is the celebrity murder trial of the century and the defence want one man on their team: con artist turned lawyer Eddie Flynn.

All the evidence points to Robert’s guilt, but as the trial begins a series of sinister incidents in the courtroom start to raise doubts in Eddie’s mind.

What if there’s more than one actor in the courtroom? What if the killer isn’t on trial? What if the killer is on the jury?

This week seemed to be all about the weird vibes. Starting from when I went on an overnight work trip to Jakarta, to the actual event itself, to flying back to Bali and the work days following that. It’s Sunday night and my whole being is screaming at me that IT’S NOT READY FOR THE WEEKEND TO END. I know I say this every weekend (lol) but this time that feeling of dread has created this tornado of anxious energy that seems to have swallowed me whole. It’s making me feel a little bit sick to my stomach and it’s been hard finding the motivation to even get out of bed at all today. It doesn’t help that the temperature every day seems to be getting hotter and more humid, and although the rainy season is supposed to have started already, there’s nary a rain cloud in sight 😔

To counter this pervasive feeling today, I’ve been listening to this song by Billie Eilish on a loop. If I’m not mistaken the video below was produced by Apple, who seems to have removed the video from YouTube… But someone else posted it and friends, this short animation for the song is perfection. It fills my heart with just that little bit I need. I highly recommend giving it a watch if you have a moment 🥰

Reading & Blogging Recap

November has been an incredibly slow reading month for me and I’m not really sure why. I kinda feel like I’ve been functioning at half my usual speed in just about everything this month and while it’s frustrating, I don’t have much energy in me to do something about it 😅 Since last Sunday I’ve only managed to finish three books, which seems to be the standard weekly number of books for me this month. Task 2 of the Triwizardathon starts tomorrow and I’m planning to keep going strong for the challenges, so fingers crossed I can manage! For some reason I feel like I’m not living up to my full reading potential this month (whatever that means, I honestly don’t know what I’m on about) but … because my reads are going so slowly for no particular reason, that’s what I feel?

But anyway, before I go further off on a nonsensical tangent 🙃 you can find all the posts I’ve made this week down below:

    • Criminal Minds is probably one of my favorite shows of all time next to Grey’s Anatomy! I’ve always found the mind of serial killers extremely fascinating (in the most non-creepy or psychotic way haha). This was a great and fast read and I’d defo recommend it if you’re looking to try something new!

      And yes, that meme 🤣

    • This month is definitely one of those and I know it happens, I’m just becoming conscious of it lol I still feel like it’s the start of November when it’s really the end and I think that’s confusing me more than anything! Haha
