#WWWWednesday: 1 May 2024

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Since last Wednesday I’ve finished four books.

The First Binding (Tales of Tremaine #1) by R.R. Virdi ★★★½
After almost a month of reading, Leslie and I finished our buddy-read! 🎉 At times this felt too long and overly detailed, but the characters and overall mysterious plot made this worth it. I’m still working on my review but you can check out Leslie’s review!

Promise of Darkness (Dark Court Rising #1) by Bec McMaster ★★★★☆
I read this after seeing it on Nicole’s blog and I’m glad I picked it up cos it was a fun paranormal romance romp! It’s got fae, political scheming, ruling court drama, a headstrong FMC and a smouldering hot slightly tortured MMC. I can’t wait to continue the series.

Giant Days Vol 1. by John Allison ★★★★☆
This was a cosy slice-of-life style graphic novel about three friends who’ve just started uni. It’s quirky, weird, hilarious and fairly comforting.

Giant Days Vol. 2 by John Allison ★★★★★
The second volume in this graphic novel series has made me love it more. It’s laugh-out-loud funny and still very weird but I love the humour and the uni life adventures this group of friends experiences. Again, still very comforting and entertaining to read 🙂

Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone

I’m not quite sure how I feel about this yet. I think it might be the way the story is told that has me on the fence but I’m intrigued by this very messy family. Things just got a whole lot more intense now!

Voyage of the Damned

I’ve read the first chapter but decided to put it aside until I finish my current read. I’m coming back to it immediately after though! It’s so funny?! I think this is gonna be fun 🙂

What are you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends!

  1. Everyone in My Family has Killed Someone has me from the title alone — can’t wait for your thoughts on that one. Sound absolutely chaotic. 😂 Voyage of the Damned sounds a bit more up my alley personally, so I hope it’s good! Happy reading, Dini. 🙂

    • The title is 100% why it made it on my radar and I ended up really enjoying it. It took a while to get into the book cos of the writing style but once things took off, I couldn’t put it down. I’m keen to get back to Voyage of the Damned after I get through some of my tour reads but I was already hooked from the first chapter!

  2. The style of Everyone in my Family does take a bit of getting used to, but the messy family really makes up for that. I found the book quite funny, but I know not everyone did. Hope you enjoy it!

  3. They did a novel based on Giant Days by Non Pratt a few years back. I remember enjoying the friendship and it being a lot of fun. With a title like Voyage of the Damned, I didn’t expect to hear this was a fun one. Awesome!

    • I’ve still only read the first chapter but I’m planning to get back to it after our buddy read and a few tour reads. I wasn’t expecting the humour but I love it, lol. The main character *does* seem like a bit of a hot mess though 😂
