Falling for my fake girlfriend was never part of the plan…
Daniella Laughlin might seem put together in her dance gear and captainship, but on the inside, sheโ€™s figuring out who she is without her momโ€™s beauty pageant influence. Constantly being critiqued and set up by her mom, she dreads going home for the holidays.

Enter her best friendโ€™s older brother, hockey captain Gabriel Van Helsing. Dani and Gabe have been friends for two decades, and sure, sheโ€™s harbored a secret crush on him forever, but she never acted on it because his sister wouldโ€™ve killed her. Gabeโ€™s a player, on and off the ice, and the longest relationship heโ€™s had is with his hockey stick. He offers to drive her home for Thanksgiving break and proposes the most bonkers ideaโ€”they should fake date until New Yearโ€™s to get her mom to leave her alone.

Gabe might wear the C on the ice, but heโ€™s always been passive. Here for a good time, never rocking the boat. But after his latest hookup wouldnโ€™t take a hint, he uses Daniellaโ€™s predicament for the perfect solution: if he was unavailable, people would leave him alone.

Things begin easily with their friendship, but with every touch and fake kiss, Daniella canโ€™t hide her feelings anymore. And for Gabe, who sets deadlines for every fling heโ€™s ever had, he struggles to fight for what he wants. When their timeline is up, Daniellaโ€™s insecurities clash with Gabeโ€™s inability to commit. For two people terrified to take a chance, they must risk their decade-long friendship for a shot at love.

Thereโ€™s a devil on my shoulder, and every Monday morning she announces herself. Sheโ€™s this delicious flame in my chest, a flurry of whispered suggestions in my ear. Suggestions I ignoreโ€ฆbecause every single one of them is about Ben Tate.

Benโ€”Stealer of Clients, Evicter of Homeless Women, Nemesis. Sitting across from me every damn Monday with his lovely, smug smile and his too-perfect teeth, the living symbol of everything I hate. Itโ€™s been my policy to avoid him, but when a case comes into the firmโ€”one that could change his career and mineโ€”I make an exception. It means weekends and evenings by his side. It means enduring his smirk and his smart mouth and never taking the bait.

Until the night Ben says, โ€œBeg.โ€
And that devil on my shoulder decides to make a few demands of her own.

Iโ€™ve slapped my cuffs on Luna Lancaster too many times to count and not a single one was for fun.

As the sheriff of Starlight Cove, I shouldn’t crave her, but I do. Sheโ€™s chaos, mayhem, and sunshine wrapped up in too-tight yoga pants. The lawbreaker might have the town enamored with her free spirit, but sheโ€™s a thorn in my side, even if she is the sexiest woman I’ve ever seen.

I want her out of my town and out of my head.

Trouble is, she’s made it perfectly clear she’s not going anywhere. And her spree of minor infractionsโ€”who runs a yoga class without a license?โ€”is hitting dangerously close to home. Her latest protest has her chained to a tree on the boundary of my familyโ€™s resort. The last thing we need is bad press ruining the short tourism season when the resort is already one bad month away from bankruptcy.

I’ll do whatever it takes to save Starlight Cove. Even if that means handcuffing Luna to my bed.

Romance Mini-Reviews: Enemies-to-Lovers/Hate-to-Love Edition

Hi, friends! I’m excited to share two mini-reviews for romances I’ve read and loved in the last few weeks. I picked up Moon Shot on a whim because I’ve enjoyed the few Tara Wyatt romances I’ve read so far and this was so much fun! Falling for the Enemy is the second book in Katie Golding’s Malibu Millionaires series and I loved it. It’s a bit more on the erotica side of romance but I liked the balance of steamy + heartfelt.

Am I friends with JP Cane?
Ha! That’s laughable.

Besides the fact that heโ€™s adopted some far-fetched notion from the movieย When Harry Met Sallyย that says men and women can’t be friends and work together, itโ€™s safe to say we’re not friends. He’s annoyingly loud, obnoxiously handsome, and has made an art out of poking all my hot buttons . . . multiple times a day.

So you can imagine how disgruntled I am when I not only have to fly to San Francisco with him for work, but stay in the same penthouse. Yup, we’re sharing the same air, twenty-four-seven. We’re talking full-fledged working roommates. The man doesn’t know what it means to wear a shirt, thrives off protein bars, and you guessed it, moans loud enough for people to believe he’s Meg Ryan in a restaurant.

Spoiler Alert: I WON’T be having what he’s having.

Tack on his continuous flirting and his polished good looks, and I’m caught staring down the barrel of a seductive temptation that makes it hard for me to sleep at night.
But guess who can control herself? This girl.
Because if there is one thing I know for certain, it’s that JP Cane and I are so not meant to be.
