We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is: Book Series I Want to Catch Up On (or series you’d like to start)

For today’s prompt I’m doing a combination of series I want to catch up on/finish and ones I’d like to start, so I’m splitting it in two! Honestly, some of the books in the series I want to catch up/finish need to be re-read at this point, but I’m really looking forward to it because it might as well be like reading them for the first time. 😂

  2. I have Malice on mine! Want to re-read that soon or did we have something else planned?! I need to finish The Stormlight Archive! It’s been too long of me dragging my feet. haha

  9. I highly recommend the Rook & Rose series! They are one of my favorite series in recent years. I’ve also read some of The Stormlight Archives; I finished books 1 to 3, but dnf’d book 4. I don’t remember why, maybe I should pick it up again. I hope you enjoy them all, but especially Rook & Rose!

    • Ooh, that’s exciting to hear! Whenever I hear people talk about it, it’s usually always with high praise so I have high hopes. If you do give book 4 of the Archives another ago, I hope it works better for you this time around 🙂

    • I read it several years before I started blogging (and reviewing books)! I think it was about 2015, so 11 years ago now. I still remember bits of it, but very little, but the feeling I had when I read it has stuck with me most! Hopefully, I’ll be able to write a review on re-read 🙂

  13. Echoing that Rook and Rose is excellent! It’s a slow burn, but the characterization and worldbuilding is top notch. If you’re at all interested in fashion or sewing patterns, this is truly divine! Also, all the ‘tarot’ readings they do (not tarot, but a similar card based fortune telling the two authors invented for the series) were done in person and the authors let those drive some of the story direction!

    • Love this added context! Thanks for sharing 😃 It’s definitely high on my TBR, especially since I’m almost done reading a series written by one of the authors (Brennan) and absolutely love it. Can’t wait to hopefully fall in love with the series too!

    • After years of having the first book on my shelf, I finally read it last year and was so pleased that I enjoyed it cos I wasn’t having much luck with YA fantasy at the time and this was the exception 🙂 Can’t wait to finish the duology!

    • Lol, I’m the same. It’s been a minute since its sat on my shelf, but… I know I will get to it eventually. I’ve seen so much praise for the duology that it’ll be hard to keep putting it off (at least, I hope, haha). Can’t wait to meet Twyla and Frank too!

  20. I have been trying to be more conscious about my series whenever I pick new books, because I even forgot I started some series! I remember when I was making my series tracker that I made a whole section for series I started and probably would end up restarting because it has been so long!

    I hope you enjoy the endings for all of these series, and you have fun with the new stories! I was very curious about This Poison Heart when it came out, but I did not know it was a duology, I thought it was a trilogy (I might be wrong, but I don’t want to check just in case).

    I have also heard incredible things about The Jasad Heir. Best of luck, Dini!

    • Haha, I totally get it. I thought about making a series tracker before but I thought that it might overwhelm me so I’ve left it for now 😂 I do think This Poison Heart is a finished duology so you can start whenever you like with it.       • I love a good list so I’ve always had something to keep track, but it was not working. I think now I am happy with mine and I am quite mindful of it, so since I am using it constantly, it keeps being updated and used, but I know it’s not for everyone.

        Well, I have just told you in your WWW that I am craving some fantasy, though I do not want something too complex right now, and I see that This Poison Heart is also about mythology, so who knows🤭 I’ll tell you something if I pick it up, I am curious about it.

    • If it’s been ages since I’ve read the previous book (usually is) then yes, a re-read is defo in order. Especially if the story continues from the previous, but even with interconnected series with separate stories, if I forget bits about the world-building, I know I would get annoyed, so a re-read is in order then too. 😂

    • I know, I’m so excited to explore more of his backlist! I’m also excited that we have something new to look forward to from him as well 😃 Also, I’m really looking forward to giving the Rook & Rose series a try. I’ve seen a lot of positive things about it in the comments here!
