#WWWWednesday: 12 August 2026

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

So… I haven’t really been reading over the past week. Well, I’ve been reading so little that I only managed to finish one graphic novel! 😂 Still, I guess it’s better than nothing at all, right? Heh…

And actually, I won’t be saying too much about Hollow Magic by Mars Lauderbaugh because I’ll be posting my blog tour review for it tomorrow. I will say that I thought it was a good debut!

I’m still going with my reads from last week and again, it’s not because I’m not enjoying them, it’s just that I’m enjoying gaming much more right now! 😂 My group read with Leslie, Charlotte, and Veros is making steady progress with In the Labyrinth of Drakes (61%). I’m still enjoying Swordheart (Zale and Brindle have made an appearance, but oh, how I loathe the damnable Motherhood!).

I probably could’ve finished Never After at the weekend after making great headway with it on Thursday last week (80%). Seriously, Steve West is such an incredible narrator and has managed to suck me into this story so completely with how he has brought it to life! But, in all honesty, I’m scared to continue, lol. I have a feeling this won’t have a HEA (although I’m still hoping it will), and with how much I’ve come to care for the characters in spite of their flaws, I don’t know if I’m ready to face that reality… 😅 Am I the only one who puts off finishing a book because they’re nervous/anxious about what’s to come next/how it’s going to end?

I’ll be starting my next buddy read with Becky tomorrow and I’m so excited! Otherwise, let’s see where the mood takes me.

What are you currently reading? I hope you’re enjoying whatever book you’ve picked up, friends!

  1. I’m currently reading by Badass Alien Boss by Cara Bristol

In the last week I finished 🥁

1 Valley of Ravens by Barbara Erskine

2 Taming my Human by Eve Langlais

Only 2 as the Barbara Erskine book was fairly slow paced. A great book though

Not sure what next. Maybe a few more St Mary’s. Mind you, I said that last week. So many lined up

    • I feel like the last bits of the second to last sections of each of her books always explodes in action and often chaos 🤣 I had to remind myself earlier that I had already read into Part 4 and I had to stop before I forgot where Part 3 ended, lol.

  2. I got The Unbroken last weekend, I was lucky enough to meet C.L. Clark in person and get my copy signed. Looking forward to hear your thoughts on it. 😊

    • I initially thought it was historical romance cos that’s how I saw it pitched as by another reader. But I wouldn’t say it’s that. I would say it’s a historical with a romantic subplot (even if it’s a bigger part of things eventually). I just don’t think it has a HEA, but I really hope I’m wrong about that as well, haha

  3. I really enjoyed reading the rest of In The Labyrinth Of Drakes and cant believe we only have one book left to go 🥲 Glad to hear you’re enjoying Swordheart and it’ll be interesting to see how you get on with the end of Never After. I sometimes want a book without a HEA 🙈 no idea why. I guess its a combination of wanting to find a book that makes me cry and being surprised by the ending though 🤔 glad you enjoyed the graphic novel too. I have my first ever one to try very soon.
