We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is: Books I Was Reading On This Day Over the Last Ten Years (Stolen from Anne @ HeadFullofBooks) (This might be tricky if you don’t use a reading tracker like Goodreads, but the idea is to share what you were reading on August 11th of 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, and 2016. If you have no idea, pick a book you loved that you read at any time during each of the last ten years. And if you still have no idea, pick a book you loved that was published during each of the last ten years. Make this work for you!)

What a fun topic and I’m excited to give it a go with just one minor change. Even though I’ve used Goodreads to track my reading over the past decade (I think?), I don’t think I can get specific with the dates—it would also take way too long for me to search and I’m just not about that vibe right now, haha. So I’m just sticking to “books I’ve read in August over the past decade”! Also, I should note that I don’t know if I can find August books for the earlier years, but if I don’t, I’ll just mention a book I read in Q3 that year (if I can remember, lol). Let’s go! ✨

This was so fun to do and I managed to find a book in August each year, too! I love going through my lists and although it’s not really reflected here, it was interesting to see how my reading has evolved! I used to read way more contemporary/literary fiction + mystery/thrillers, but I always come back to fantasy + romance! Did you notice evolution in your reading? Have you read any of these books or are they on your TBR?

    • Yea, I think that’s what I love about Picoult’s books! It’s been a minute since I read one though, lol. I think this one might’ve been the last one though her more recent stuff is on my TBR. 🤔 I hope you enjoy His Only Wife 🙂

  4. This is also great to check out some old titles that went under the radar on our TBR 😂 I see some that interest me, but I haven’t read them yet!

    • I haven’t continued after book two. I remember not enjoying the second book nearly as much as the first, and I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to continue. Do you know how many books are planned for the series though? Tbh, I haven’t been vibing with MG as much anymore, so I think I might leave off 😅

    • I loved the first book so much! I haven’t continued after the second book and I’m not sure if I will 🤔 (too many books too little time and all that) but I hope you enjoy it if/when you get around to reading them!

    • If you like the spooky unsettling stuff then I’d definitely recommend it! Left me questioning what was real and what was not at the end. It was great! I feel like The Drowned Woods is underrated YA but I do enjoy the author’s work!

  15. I really liked The Drowned Woods back when I read it, and I actually liked that author’s new release from this year even better! I really do need to get on reading Amari, though. I’ve heard nothing but good things.

    • i didn’t even realise that the author had a release this year but now i’m off to check it out 😃 i feel like this author’s works are always so underrated as i never see anyone talking about them but they’re so good! i hope you enjoy Amari if you give it a go 🙂

  22. I chose a different prompt, but I do know my reading has evolved. I used to read all the contemporary authors, top sellers mostly romance and thriller. I have really branched out and read most genres now (not urban fantasy or dystopian) and so many different authors. I have only read Amari and Drowned Forest from your list, Dini.

  23. it was fun to see your reads over the years! I relate with you on finding the books from those dates haha, I had to scroll so much in my Goodreads to find them.

    as you know, we share This Savage Song. the only other book that I’ve read from your list is A Song of Achilles. that was so good 😭
