Since last week, I’ve managed to finish 3 books! I think this might be the most I’ve read in a week in a while, although to be fair, one of the books was a graphic novel that I started and finished this morning! I’m hoping there will be a turn in my reading now that I’m practically unemployed, lol. We gotta look on the bright side of things, right? ๐คญ
(ARC) Arcana: The Cursed Fate (Arcana #2) by Sam Prentice-Jones โ

I almost forgot I had this because the publisher sent me an email with the ARC and since that rarely happens to me, I almost glossed over it. I’m a bit late, but I really enjoyed this second and final volume of the series. There were so many reveals and events that happened and a lot of it packed an emotional punch! This does tackle some tough topics that I wish had been given more depth, but sometimes it’s nice to have a story that might be idealistic, but is just a ‘light heart’ moment without dwelling on the heavier things. I also loved the diversity and inclusiveness of the cast of characters! ๐
The Enchanted Greenhouse (Spell Shop #2) by Sarah Beth Durst
This was a buddy read with Charlotte, but I kinda sped ahead and finished this quickly. I’ll hold my final thoughts for now but I’ll just say that I enjoyed it a lot more than the first one!
The Shadow of the Gods (The Bloodsworn Saga #1) by John Gwynne โ

This was a buddy read with Becky and we both wound up really enjoying it! It was a bit of a slow burn to start, especially as Gwynne laid out the characters and their situations. This does take a little bit of patience to get into and it might not be for those who don’t enjoy “journey” type stories. That said, it is 1000% worth the pay off because the ending was diabolical, lol. ๐คญ The way Gwynne ties the three POVs together was also perfection. We’re continuing with the next book soon!
I guess you can say I’m mainly reading Once Upon a River, but I also haven’t picked that up since last week (38%). I feel like I might’ve lost the mojo a bit with this, but I’m going to pick it up again soon and see how I feel as I continue. I do feel like reading something else though but I’m not entirely sure what to read because my reading mood is very fickle at the minute.
