We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is: Authors You Wish Were Still Writing Today (These could be authors who have passed away or retired/are taking a long hiatus from writing. You could also spin this and share authors who have switched to a genre you’re not interested in.) (submitted by Rebecca @ Top100Books)
Although I’m still talking about authors in today’s post, I’m going slightly rogue and sharing ten authors I can’t wait to read for the first time!

S.A. Cosby
Yaa Gyasi
Megha Majumdar
Anne McCaffrey
S.A. Barnes

Sadeqa Johnson
Angeline Boulley
Lily King
Grady Hendrix
Saara El-Arifi

Have you read any of these authors or are they also new to you?

I’ve seen lots of love for S.A. Barnes!

Same here but their books were so hard to find outside of the US until recently. She writes way outside my usual comfort zone but I’m looking forward to giving these books a try 🙂

I haven’t read any of them yet, but I hope you love their stuff.

Saara El-Arifi is one of my favourite authors and I truly hope you enjoy her writing whenever you get around to picking something up by her 🤞 we’ll have to dive into Dragonflight soon as it sounds like such an incredible series and I know you brought the entire set 😂 S. A. Barnes, Angeline Boulley and Grady Hendrix are also ones I especially want to try although with the latter I’m unsurprisingly planning to pick up their vampire title first. I hope you enjoy all of these and cant wait to hear what you think of their books.

I’ve heard so many good things about her books. I’m tempted to start my journey of her books with Cleopatra actually (now that I have that gorgeous edition on my shelf)! And yes, I’m keen to start our Dragons of Pern journey whenever you’re up for it since I’ve got all the books and can start whenever 😂 I really can’t resist all them 99p deals, can I?! I hope we love them! And ooh, what’s the vampire title that you’re looking to pick up?
You know what I just remembered? Barnes was one of the authors we talked about buddy reading! If you’re still up for that, let me know and I’ll add that to our list, lol. 😂

That seems like a great decision. I havent read my copy yet 🙈 but I’ve heard wonderful things and am definitely reading it sometime this month. To be fair I generally can’t either. I just felt bad getting that many at once so I only got a couple but I have them ready to go whenever too 😊 The Southern Book Club’s Guide To Vampire Hunting. Book club, vampires, southern – sounds like my kind of vibe 😂
Yes I’m definitely still up for that too 😊 ooh maybe we could try her space horror first, like we said, then pick up her new paranormal romance as a kind of comparision? It could be fun buddy reading two vastly different genres by the same author

Great topic! I like to think there are lots of authors I would be still excited to try, but I also like to stay with the ones who consistently charm or make me laugh with their books. 🙂

Same here! I do tend to go for the tried and true but I have so many more books on my TBR at this point that it feels like I’ve got more new ones than to explore than ones I’ve actually read 🫣

It has likely been on my list for just as long because I have had it since it released with the Illumicrate box. 🤭 I’ve heard good things though and can’t wait to try it. I hope that you enjoy it too whenever you get around to it!

I keep meaning to read it but then I get intimidated and feel like I have to be in the right mood, so I keep putting it off. Maybe itll happen this year 🤭

Oh, I didn’t realise, but well, there’s no shortage of new to me authors so I can definitely come up with a completely different list then!

I enjoyed the Anne McCaffrey books I’ve read, but I wish her stories were not quite so serious!

I haven’t read most of these authors either, but I have read one by Hendrix and two by Boulley. I especially like Boulley’s books. I hope you enjoy these authors when you get to them.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

I would also love to finally pick up Angeline Boulley. I hope you are impacted as much as I was by Witchcraft for Wayward Girls. Truly impressed with that one.

That is a nice idea to list authors you haven’t read. I mostly do books I have already read but this is interesting. Oh, so many books, so little time.
Thanks for visiting my post.
