#TopTenTuesday: Blue Waters

We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is: April Showers (Interpret this however you’d like: rainy day reads, books that make you cry, books that give you happy tears, books to wash away a bad reading experience, books set in rainy places, books with rain/raindrops/umbrellas on the cover, blue book covers, etc.)

Hmm… I wasn’t sure what to do for today’s topic. In Indonesia, the rainy season has not let up since the ‘-ber’ months started last year, which is very odd and more proof of how rapidly the climate is changing. But I digress! I guess in “honour” of the never-ending rainy season, I’m going to go for covers that have some element of water on it…And that are (more or less) blue! I would go for titles that have rain on the cover but I honestly don’t think I have many, lol.

These will be a mix of books I’ve read (marked with a *) and books from my TBR!

Exiles by Jane Harper
*The Voyage of the Basilisk by Marie Brennan
*Sunbringer by Hannah Kaner
A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki
*A Theory of Dreaming by Ava Reid

Hunt On Dark Waters by Katee Robert
The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery
Last Chance to Save the World by Beth Revis
Cursed Daughters by Oyinkan Braithwaite
In Ascension by Martin MacInnes

In my search for water-y covers, I came across zero that had rain! A body of water is as close as we’re going to get, but at least it’s water? 😅 Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR?

  1. Wow, that’s a long rainy season. How long would it typically last before climate change started to disrupt the weather?

Here in Ontario, we have snow all winter and then April is generally a pretty rainy month. After that, we usually have sunny weather at least some days.

  2. I also tried rainy covers first and didn’t find much so I went rogue instead 😀 I love the cover for A Theory of Dreaming and I definitely still want to read those books!
