Monthly Wrap-Up: March 2026

What happened in March? I honestly have no idea. It passed by in a blink, but with the end of Ramadan and the start of Eid, half of the month was practically a holiday for the majority of the country. 😂 While my family doesn’t celebrate, we still got a holiday, and though I literally did close to nothing for my 5-day weekend, it was still very nice, lol. 🐼 Something I started again this month was gaming. After years of putting aside Disney Dreamlight Valley, I decided to pick it up on a whim and have found myself enjoying the gameplay so much more this time around! There are tons of new characters and quests, as the “base game” has developed further since its launch. Despite the tons of frame drops and massive lags, it’s been a great way to unwind daily and I’m a little obsessed.

The big event this month was celebrating my dad’s 72nd birthday with Korean BBQ and a delicious fluffy chocolate strawberry cake. Other than that, I experienced a few more gorgeous sunsets in the car on the way home, and I also ate some mouthwateringly good Indian food! Here’s some snaps from the month…

Maybe it’s not surprising considering how much I’ve been gaming lately, but in March I only managed to read 8 books. Despite the lower book count, I did have a higher average rating this month with two 5-star reads! 😍 These were Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan and A Drop of Corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett. Both were stunning reads although Ryan’s book emotionally devastated me in the best/worst way, lol. I would highly recommend both!

I still wasn’t doing too hot with blogging this month (mostly because I’m lazy and spent more time gaming than blogging). I’m still having fun co-hosting Let’s Talk Bookish though! If you’re curious, you can learn more about it, check out all the previous discussions, and see what topics are coming up in the months ahead HERE.

Ah, I fear I jinxed myself in February because I didn’t do very well with my challenges this month! I’m still on track with my Goodreads challenge, which is great, but I didn’t clear anything on the backlist bingo board, and neither did I complete my Buzzword book. At least I cleared my Year in Aeldia prompt, so there is that. Here’s hoping that April is better! 😊

Goodreads Reading Challenge: 29/100
Beat the Backlist 2026: 📚 7 backlist books // 📱 0 backlist ARCs ⇢ +2 bingo spots
2026 Buzzword Reading Challenge: March (“this & that”) ⇢ In progress: 10 Minutes and 38 Seconds in This Strange World
Year in Aeldia 2026: March (Clock or Sun on the Cover) ⇢ Godkiller

And with that, we’re down yet another month in the year. How was your reading month? I hope everyone is doing as good as can be and taking good care. Hope April treats you better than March did, friends! 🫂

  1. Looks like you had a quieter, but slightly better reading month in March! I’m so glad we bit the bullet and decided to buddy read The Only Good Indians, and I’m really looking forward to reading more of SGJ’s horrors with you! That sunset pic is beautiful btw, and it’s making me long for the summer nights we will hopefully start getting here soon. I hope you’re having a great April so far 🙂

  2. Sometimes relaxing and doing nothing is the best, and very much needed, so I am glad you could do that. And so cool about gaming! I have always been interested but I have no gaming consoles, so the most I do is mobile games to help with concentration or with memory.

I am so happy we did our first buddy read together, I really loved the book! I hope we can do more buddy reads in the future.

Maybe you did not do as good as you wanted with your challenges this month, but overall, it seems like you’re doing really well, so keep it up!

  3. Cheers to 72 years of dad! The food looks amazing. It’s good you are working on your gaming skills and using your free time in enjoyable ways, and 25% of your books were 5-stars. Wonderful!
