#WWWWednesday: 4 March 2026

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Since last week, I managed to finish 3 books. It was a better reading week for ratings, with a 5-star read of a book that’s been on my TBR for way too long. I’m so glad I finally read it!

Before I Let Go (Skyland #1) by Kennedy Ryan ★★★★★
This book was… Everything. I get why so many loved it (I did!), but I can also see why others like Leslie, who I buddy read with, didn’t. Please read the trigger warnings and read with care—it goes hard on grief and trauma and Ryan has a way of making you feel all of it. I lost count of the number of times I cried while reading. These characters are so incredibly messy and it shows in their past and present, but they’re also incredibly human and despite their bad decisions and the way they sometimes really irked me, I empathised with them so much. I’d 100% recommend this if you love emotionally raw and incredibly intense and angsty romances. While that’s not always my cuppa, I loved it so much in this book and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

Graveyard Shift by M.L. Rio ★★★★☆
This was a weird little novella but I really enjoyed it! It’s part mystery and part horror (not in the paranormal sense but in the humans are so effed up sense). There’s an odd but endearing found-family vibe with this group of insomniacs who bond over a shared smoking space and who come together in the most unexpected ways.

Iron & Embers (The Ashes of Thezmarr #1) by Helen Scheuerer ★★★½
I still have mixed feelings about this. It didn’t blow me away and I wished we got a lot more world-building and character development, but I was also eating it up and whenever I had to put it down I wanted to pick it back up again. The romance was angsty horny drama, but I liked their chemistry(?) and it was a nice slow burn! I wasn’t sure whether to continue the series but then I suddenly (somehow) bought book two, so I guess that means I will, haha! 😂

  • A Forgery of Fate ⇢ 43% ⇢ Still buddy reading this with Anna, but it’s been a couple of days since I picked it up. Mostly because it’s been super busy but also I haven’t wanted to carry around my massive copy. 😂 I’ve got an appointment tomorrow though so I’m bringing it to keep me company while waiting around! I’m enjoying it though—it’s so nice to be back in Lim’s world. 💜 Her writing is magical, as usual! ✨

  • 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in this Strange World⇢ 36% ⇢ I started this on a whim as it fulfills one of my reading challenge prompts this month. It’s heartbreaking, infuriating, and so intense. It also feels like a somewhat timely read as International Women’s Day approaches with the global theme on justice. Shafak’s writing is wonderful and makes for an easy read (even if the books events are not easy to digest). Her lush descriptions transport me and her metaphors leap off the page—I love it!

  • Live Love Lasso ⇢ 44% ⇢ I want to badly to love this book but despite making it this far, I can’t recall a thing I’ve read. I’ve not connected to the characters at all and the romance? I’m totally missing the link here and I’m really sad about it. I’m tempted to just put it down for now and maybe come back to it at a later date or maybe restart from the beginning over the weekend and binge it in a day? Let’s see! Sad about it though.

Charlotte, Leslie, Veros, and I are continuing our group read of the Lady Trent series and I’m excited to dive back in—although I admit that I remember close to nothing about how the last book ended… 🫣 I also started reading the first chapter-ish of Pet the other day and I think I want to continue!

What are you currently reading? I hope you’re enjoying whatever book you’ve picked up, friends!

  1. I’m currently reading Just One Damn Thing after Another by Jodi Taylor. I’d heard good things about this series although personally I wasn’t too sure about this at the start but it began to get more interesting on reaching the dinosaur part
Last week was more productive than the previous one! 🥁

1 Sweetwater and the Witch by Jayne Castle
    2 Journey by Veronica Scott
3 Conrad County Lethal Homecoming by Rachel Lee
4 Danger Zone by Cindi Myers
5 At Star’s End by Anna Hackett

Probably book 2 in the Chronicles of St Mary’s by Jodi Taylor up next, although that could change!
