#WWWWednesday: 25 February 2026

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Since last week, I managed to finish 3 books. It wasn’t my best reading week in terms of ratings but I feel like that may be turning around this week! 🤞🏽

Two Can Play by Ali Hazelwood ★★★½
I saw this in the store and immediately scooped up this novella (I couldn’t resist the purple, plus we get a special illustration inside the front and back covers). This was pretty cute, a little sexy, and overall, pretty entertaining. Even though this was only my second Hazelwood book, I feel like she has a formula that does work well for her. She delivered hard on the mutual pining and I loved that.

A Theory of Dreaming (A Study in Drowning #2) by Ava Reid ★★★☆☆
Chris and I dove straight into the second book and I have to admit that I don’t think this book was necessary. This second book was a study in miscommunication and angst. I don’t know where it all went wrong (and so quickly too) but we didn’t really end up learning anything new in this one and nearly four days later, I’m still mad about the miscommunication. 😅

Sing Me to Sleep by Gabi Burton ★★¾?
I have some seriously mixed feelings about this. While it was a relatively fast-paced story, I wasn’t entirely won over by the plot, but especially not our main character. Saiorse was… A tough pill to swallow. I’m all for morally grey characters—in fact, I do love them—but they usually have something to make me root for them, whether it’s one redeeming quality or a fight for a cause that makes sense. I didn’t get that here. There was no growth, no learning, and barely a plot. I wasn’t entirely impressed by the prince love interest either. Overall, I’m really bummed that I didn’t enjoy this, but I’m glad that I’ve finally read it!

  • A Forgery of Fate ⇢ 19% ⇢ This is a buddy read with Anna that started today! I’m not very far in (about 8 chapters now) but I’ve loved being back in Lim’s world—there’s so much magic, wonder, and whimsy in it. At the point where I stopped, things are just starting to pick up so I’m very excited to dive back in! 😍

  • Before I Let Go ⇢ 46% ⇢ This has been on my TBR for ages and I finally started reading it with Leslie this weekend. Oh granola, nobody was lying when they said this was a massively emotional read. I am an emotional reader but I didn’t think I’d be crying twice by Ch10! Madness 😂 The angst is so for real and no joke: please check content/trigger warnings because it does get dark and extremely heavy. I suppose you can say that reading this has been a cathartic experience cos I’m letting all those emotions out, lol.

  • Iron & Embers ⇢ 45% ⇢ I didn’t realise there was another series set in this world and I feel like maybe I should’ve read that first before this because the start was really confusing. I don’t know how to describe my reading experience because while I’m not blown away by the writing or characters, I’m also just kinda eating it up? Lol. I wish that the horny wasn’t occupying so many braincells, but the tension is good and I’m intrigued by the alchemy and world-building.

I’ve been eagerly anticipating this monster romance so I want to start reading it asap! 🤭 But the other options remain too.

What are you currently reading? I hope you’re enjoying whatever book you’ve picked up, friends!
