We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today.

I haven’t had the chance to read at all today (more details on that below) but I plan to try to at least read a few pages of Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh. This is one of the books on my Illumicrate unread stack I’ll be buddy reading it with Chris. Since I had pretty great success with buddy reading backlist Owlcrate books last year, I thought this’d be a fun way for us to get motivated and move some of these books off the TBR pile!
What book are you spending your Sunday in bed with?

This work week was long and exhausting but it was also full of accomplishments. I finished a massive chunk of the work that I needed to get done on our annual report, and I’m chuffed I got to tick many boxes off my to-do. Two of our Australian colleagues will be leaving in about 2 weeks, and some of us have been trying to do more with them before then. We had a nice post-work dinner together mid-week and then today, a couple of us girlies went for a bit of an adventurous outing to this place called Situ Gunung a few hours outside of Jakarta. The day featured aerial basket rides over ravines and rivers, hiking down to a waterfall, and hiking up to several suspension bridges with stunning views. It was a packed day—we left the house at 6:30am, rounded off the day with a late lunch at 3:30pm (just as a thunderstorm hit), then got home at around 9:00pm. I’m beyond exhausted but feel pleased with how the day went! So without further ado, I thought I’d share some pictures from today’s little fun adventure.

It was a bit of a slow reading week in comparison to the previous one. I decided to start re-cataloguing my library this weekend with the books that I purchased in 2025. Needless to say, there were a lot of books. But that wasn’t what tripped me up! I somehow hecked up my Notion library databases, which led me to getting so frustrated cos everything was messing up, that I deleted it. Obviously, I quickly regretted doing that, but once I restored the files, I wasn’t able to find them in any library even though I was told the databases still existed somewhere. Nothing was working and I was getting really heated so I decided to just… Start from scratch and re-catalogue my entire library? Heh. 😮💨 It hasn’t been the most fun but on the bright side, it is giving me the chance to think about the books that I want to unhaul after finally reading them last year and not liking them, or deciding that I’ve kept them on the TBR long enough to know that, at this point, I’ll probably never read it. It’s all about finding bright sides, right? 🤡 I’ve got a long way to go, lol.

It was lovely! It reminded me that sometimes it is nice to get out of the house and into the (semi) wilderness 🤭

Your day out looks amazing although it must have been really tiring as it was such a long day. Good Luck with re-cataloguing all of your books. That sounds like a big job

It really was amazing although I still feel it, even now on Monday evening! 😂 It was a good reminder that sometimes getting out of the house and being active is a nice thing to do, lol. I defo need the luck for the book categorization but… I’m hoping I can move quickly so I can get these books off my floor!

Hope you enjoy Some Desperate Glory, and your expedition looks absolutely beautiful – although I sympathise with the tiredness and achiness, as I also had a very strenuous day over the weekend (albeit walking round a city rather than in nature!)

It was definitely a great day despite even now still feeling tired 😂 I guess that maybe just means I need to get out more often and be more active, haha. Have a great week ahead!

That looks like a lovely day trip! I love brief excuses to go out and see beautiful things.
Is that Emily Tesh book the same Emily Tesh as The Incandescent? If so, I definitely need your opinions ASAP so I can think about adding it to my own TBR!

It was lovely and a great reminder that sometimes it’s nice to get out of the house and actually do things aside from reading, lol 😂 And YES! It’s the same Emily Tesh that wrote The Incandescent. I haven’t read that book yet but I have read her earlier novella (Silver in the Wood) and absolutely loved it and so far it’s going well with Some Desperate Glory! Hopefully, it stays good, lol 🤞🏽

Yay for a rewarding work week! That outing place sounds beautiful, I never heard it before. And I’m so sorry about your notion tracker, but good for you for starting from scratch again! I would’ve just gave up and restart it once I’ve cool off 😭
