This week’s topic is:

Prompts: What 2026 releases are you most excited for? Are there any sequels you’re looking forward to reading? Are there any debut authors you’re excited to see release their first books? Any favorite authors coming out with something new?

What 2026 releases are you most excited for?

I say this almost every time there’s an “anticipated releases” post to make and so I’ll say it again. Most of the time, I don’t pay much attention to upcoming releases. That said, I’ve been spending too much time on bookstagram these days, so I’ve seen many “anticipated 2026 releases” posts, and quite a few landed on my TBR as a result. It was so hard to narrow down but I’m very excited about these! I’ve probably forgotten heaps but I know I’ll have more opportunities to share anticipated releases in the year ahead.

Also, just to note, I’m not including debuts, sequels, or books from favourite authors on this list as I’ve put those in their own sections below! 😂

Are there any sequels you’re looking forward to reading?

There are definitely books in series that I’m excited to get to. Making the top of that list is the next installment in the Dungeon Crawler Carl world: A Parade of Horribles! The third book in the Leviathan We’re also getting Victorious, the third (and final?) Villains book by V.E. Schwab, and I feel like I’ve been highly anticipating that announcement for years now. 😂 Aiden Thomas is also releasing the second Cemetery Boys book! And as you can see, many without covers yet, lol.

Are there any debut authors you’re excited to see release their first books?

I think because I pay so little attention to the finer details, I tend to miss out on who is debut author. 😅 These are three off my 2026 releases list that I’m really looking forward to!

Any favorite authors coming out with something new?

I have no words for how excited I am about these books, especially new Fonda Lee because I feel as if it’s been entirely too long!

  1. I also don’t really pay attention to new releases but omg looking at this list make me realizes there are so many books I’m excited for! Of course Victorious has been a lot time coming and I’m so happy it will finally get released!! And omg a new Tia Williams book 🥳

  2. Yes we have more crossover here but you’ve also helped me discover a few new to me titles again too. Im not surprised to see The Caretaker getting a mention given the major mindscrew that the authors debut was. Fancy a buddy read of this one too? If its anything like the authors first book its a read that’s going to require some discussion 😂

Cleopatra is the one book I have preordered atm (although im sure I’ll add more next time Waterstones do double points). I love the author and cannot wait for that. I have high hopes for Behind Five Willows too, even if I still have a copy of Red Palace waiting to be read 🙈

Sequel wise we share A Trade Of Blood. I havent read the previous Vicious books yet but I do hope to get the first two read before that finale as I’ve loved everything I’ve read by the author so far. I hope you love the others too, especially DCC given how much you adore that series.

The Poet Empress is one I’m so, so excited for!! As is Agnes Aubert.

This is going to be the year that I finally get to the Green Bones Saga too and discover my first Fonda Lee book.

I hope you love all of these. 2026 looks like an incredible year release wise and I cannot wait!!

  3. I feel like I’m usually pretty slow to give attention to new releases as well, unless it is from an author who is already on my radar. I’ll starting getting interested in new releases once I see other bloggers start reviewing them. 😋 My most anticipated 2026 release currently is the fourth book in a series (Inkpot Gods by Seanan McGuire).
