Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp [310]

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today.

Unexpectedly, I seem to have found myself in a slump? I’ve picked up several books over the past few days and nothing has really leaped out at me. I do have one read that’s been ongoing for over a week, and I’m enjoying it, but it’s feeling a bit slow thanks to the anxious ‘end-of-year’ mood that has crept over me. I’m feeling jittery and incapable of focusing, so I’m having a hard time sticking with anything. Here’s what I’ve got going on:

I’m about 30% in Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb, and again although I’m enjoying it, I’m not making heaps of progress very quickly even if I do manage to read at least 2 chapters a day… I keep picking up and putting down A Merry Little Meet Cute, Death in the Spires and Better Not Pout, and while I like each one, my mind feel settled when I read them either—it’s so hard to focus! 🫣 I don’t know what other reads to try… 😮‍💨

What book are you spending your Sunday in bed with?

I could already feel how the “out-of-office” holiday vibes are starting to affect the team as everyone seems to be slowing down, and just like me, not really feeling in the mood to work anymore. Almost all of last week, I felt like 30% was my max 100% and it just do be like that during this season, especially now that all our events are over and there aren’t any big upcoming meetings until the new year. So overall, it was a pretty lowkey week!

I spontaneously binged The Residence on Netflix after deciding to watch it yesterday and I had so much fun with it! I hadn’t heard of Uzo Aduba before but she did a fantastic job bringing her zany/quirky character to life! This had Sherlock and Knives Out vibes that I enjoyed so much, and while at times the back-and-forth through the white house and the relatively unchanging dynamics between our MC and her FBI sidekick felt a bit repetitive, I would definitely recommend checking it out. Especially if you enjoyed Knives Out! I was so sad to find out that Netflix had cancelled the show after this pilot. 😮‍💨

I feel like I’ve been constantly reading but barely making any progress on my reads. 🫣 It’s already mid-December and I’ve only finished 2 books! Yikes. But I’m trying to tell myself it is what it is. We do our best, lol.

ICYMI here’s what I posted this week:

Honestly, I’ve just been listening to my Top Songs of 2025 playlist all week! 😅 I put it on random and here’s the song it landed on:

what’s the time where you are? – troye sivan

I hope everyone’s doing well and treating themselves with care. Have a great week ahead, friends! 💜

    • I actually started reading Killers of A Certain Age this morning and it seems to have reeled me in this morning on the train to work. But I was actually thinking about picking up a novella but can’t actually recall any on my TBR, lol. Would you have a recommendation? 🙂

      • I read the Claire Keegan (The Little Things)one that was hyped last year, and it was really powerful (a little heavy but very hopeful). I have personally been devouring holiday romance novellas. They are the brain candy I need right now.

  1. I hope you find a book you love! I feel the same way this week because it’s the last week before winter break for my kids, and the weather has been dark, gloomy, rainy – Hawaii “winter” weather, but humid not cold lol and we all just want to stay HOME. 😅. But I have to be all cheery, get them up and motivated to go, I’m sending packages, wrapping gifts, baking goodies (not for anyone, just for us LOL), I’m TIRED. I just want to do nothing….but my daughter’s birthday is the first weekend in January and I’m already trying to figure out gifts and what to do for her birthday.
